Great product - Would recommend
6โ1โ and around 210lbs. Extremely stable. No wobble at all. Great piece of equipment. Foldable so I just hang it on the wall when Iโm not using it.

Easy to set up, move and use.
Amazon roman chair review This about the adjustable angle Sunny health & Fitness Hyperextension Roman Chair. I specify that because there was no way to differentiate the Amazon reviews when I was doing my research and most reviews were for the basic model. Fyi, I'm 5'11" or 181cm and 168lbs or 76kg. Overall I'm very satisfied with the purchase and I'm hopeful that it will play a big role in strengthening my back and overall core. Things are like: 1.I can easily do reverse hyper-extensions. This was a big thing for me and almost no reviews mentioned this. 2. The cushions on the foam rollers, the part that helps secure your legs, are more than adequate. I expected less cushioning so it was a nice surprise. 3. The foam rollers aren't fixed. You can tighten it into one position and maybe you're supposed to do that, but I've found that leaving this loose allows the foam rollers to easily move to a "just-right" position for whatever I'm using it for. 4. I can do side obliques, reverse hyper-extensions, sit-ups, dips and push ups. If your upper body is already very strong you won't get any value doing push-ups, but if you're recovering from an injury or starting out building upper body strength this works quite nicely. 5. I can secure elastic exercise bands to the handles, and use the entire unit as a counterweight for adduction and abduction exercises. I'm sure you can find other places to secure exercise bands to do a whole range of other exercises. 6. Painting the adjustable leg red is a nice touch as you always want to be clear where this brace is positioned before you use the chair. 7. The base of the red adjustable leg extends out in opposite directions to form a large "T-base" that gives an extra sense of security that this swivel-leg doesn't slip out from under you when you're exercising. No other similar product from competitors, that I have seen, have a swivel base that extends out to form a similar "T-base". 8. It was easy to set up. In fact, the only thing you have to do is secure the foam pads (where your hips rest) to the frame. And that's it; ready to use. Each pad requires four screws that come with the unit. 9. The entire unit is heavy enough to make you feel secure but light enough to be lifted very easily. 10.The little wheels at the base allows you to wheel the unit to wherever you like. Very helpful as you don't want to lift it up all the time and many times I just want to collapse it and wheel it to a nearby wall. What I don't like: 1. The hip pads are a bit hard. Some more padding would be appreciated. 2. There is no guidance about how high to adjust the frame so as to avoid hurting your back, or discomfort for men if they set the height too low. When too low the split between the pads caused me much discomfort. The split between the two pads is marketed as a benefit to men, but I've laid face down on many a bench and my boys have never felt uncomfortable. With this split between the pads, I now have to be careful about how my boys "fit" or don't fit into the gap. The current height adjustment I use means that my boys are mostly at the bottom of the pads where the pads begin and the gap is widest. Women of course will not have any issues. My point though is that one thickly cushioned pad would have been preferable to me. 3. The knob to secure the slideable central beam doesn't give a smooth "slide and click" experience. It took some playing around with it before I found my correct height, and also felt it securely click in place. This is not a problem as I'm the only one using the chair. I don't think this will be a real issue even if you have to change the height often as I'm sure you'll get the hang of pulling the knob and sliding it to the click sound. 4. One of the supplied screws was defective and I had to go to hardware and hunt for one that would work. Would be nice if they could have checked them beforehand or just supplied a couple extra in case of this problem. 5. It is just a bit shaky but every competitor's product that is based on only one central support instead of support on each side (below each of your arms) will wobble. That's unavoidable, and the wobble only occurs when you are getting on or off the machine as most people will invariably favour one side of their body first when they mount or dismount the chair. The good news is that it doesn't seem at all unsafe. There is nothing I have done that gave me the slightest concern that it would tip over in any direction. Concerns: Over the long term, I wonder how well the frame will stand up to corrosion. If I was over 250 lbs I'm not sure the unit would feel as secure. Overall, for the price, I think this is a really good buy and I highly recommend it.

Absolutely worth it!
Absolutely perfect, good balance and stores easily. I use for myself and clients I coach from garage. Very easy assembly took maybe 40 minutes. Much better than the cheaper version I got rid of prior

Initial impressions: OK, but you get what you pay for
These are my first impressions of recently purchased Sunny 45-degree hyperextension Roman Chair: Just assembled the unit and used briefly for one day, so I cannot attest to longer term function and durability: Pros: -Shipping was fast. All parts were included. -Assembly was straight forward. The manual included in the box had no assembly instructions. A full manual with assembly instructions is downloadable by scanning the QR code on the abbreviated manual included with the product. There is also a link available on YouTube that illustrates the assembly process, -Included โwrenchesโ to assemble the product can be used however having a basic set of metric open end wrenches and or socket set makes it easier. -The Hyper extension felt secure enough. I did not feel like I would tip over the front, even while performing hyperextension while holding a 25lb plate (I am 5โ11, 185 lbs.) Cons: -The hardware and welds are not of great quality- but I did not have high expectations given the price. Time will tell if they hold up after some use. -The handlebars used for support or to assist the hyperextension movement are also marketed as pushup bars. However if you are even fairly fit they are at an angle that provides little resistance (unless you were to elevate your feet on something when performing the pushup) so are pretty useless for this purpose unless perhaps performing a burnout superset after pre-fatiguing the muscles. They may be beneficial for someone with little arm and or chest strength. A Sunny video demonstrating the use of the hyperextension honestly address this limitation but I did not see this mentioned on Amazon. -The Cushion (part no. 1 in the instructions) that you rest your anterior hips/pelvis against does not have a center cutout or slot to accommodate male anatomy. For males this may require some โmanual adjustmentโ or an extra pillow or cushion to soften the pressure. This should not present a problem for females. -The lock pin (part H) that holds the back stand tube and front stand tube together, which when removed allows the device to be folded for storage, is not secure- it slides out easily (see my video). Anyone who has used a gym or has an adjustable weight bench is familiar with this would be familiar with this pin which consists of a metal dowel with a small spring-loaded type of round prominent point that prevents the pin from falling out without exerting some pressure when pulling on the pin. On the Sunny, the hole that receives the pin is too large and the pin can fall/wiggle out on itโs own. THIS COULD REPRESENT A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE CAUSING THE BENCH TO COLAPSE. To address this I wrapped tape on the end of the pin to prevent it from falling out. This means that to fold the device to store it I would need to take the tape off and retape it for safety when using it again. Also, once the unit was folded for storage and then unfolded so that the lock pin could be put in place to secure the device the holes did not line up and it was necessary to use wrenches to loosen the bolt that hold sthe front and back stand together so that the holes for the lock pin could be aligned. This could be made easier if this bolt was not completely tight but by doing so it may not make the device secure. If one of the main compelling reasons for purchasing this was the convenience of regularly folding it for storage- you may want to reconsider. Of course this may not be reflective of all devices manufactured. Again, the quality of the hardware I received speaks to less than precise tolerances. For me, given the price and depending on how this holds up over time. I think it will work with the above cautions and modifications. If the above Cons were not present it would represent a good value, however with them, you are kind of getting what you are paying for.

We All Need One
I, along with much of the world, suffer from back problems that are, I believe, largely a result of sitting 90% of my waking hours. This isn't a magical cure, but this is one step in the right direction. Of course, back extensions are no new discovery, but the fact that you can have one in your home for less than $100 is pretty awesome. The equipment is perfectly sturdy for me as a 6'-1", 180 lb male. It's certainly not as sturdy as a bigger, bulkier model you would find in a gym, but I actually prefer this to the back extension at my local gym because of the thinner pad which lets me bend at the hip better. The one at the gym has an enormous pad that prevents me from hinging over the way I would like. I've had it for 2.5 years now and it's doing just fine. I use it off and on and it doesn't seem any looser than what I remember out of the box or damaged in any way. Just for context, my 5 star rating is based on the quality of the product for the price that was paid. Yes you can get better back extension machines, but for $75, I'm more than pleased.

Iโll just wait for that one to peel itself apart like this one.
Iโve always, ALWAYS had a great experience with Sunny products. Thatโs the reason I purchased this on 2/25/23. The assembly wasnโt difficult, everything came in the package and I didnโt have to contact anyone, as per usual. Itโs lightweight (which may not be the best thing, I later learned) and easy to store. My main use for this item was for hyperextension of my back... forget using it for dips as itโs not well-balanced and flimsy. I get a great workout with the hyperextensions, which I do twice a weekโฆ only. Previously, my only gripe with this machine was the pads at the topmost portion. They would make for a discomforting experience for the male reproductive organs even at the highest setting. I did find a way around that, so no complaints. Also, Iโm 6โ6โ, roughly 200 pounds; the dip portion is a gimmick. What I DO find inexcusable is the poor build quality. Initially, things were working perfectly fine. For a while now, I noticed that my feet were moving at the bottommost portion of the machine meant to keep oneโs feet stable. I disregarded itโฆ I was still able to get my workout in and figured it was just my flip-flops. A few days ago, I learned that the machine had totally come apart (see attached photos). The foot support literally is hanging on by a thin thread of steelโฆ like I was opening a can of corned beef. Quality control ought to be stripped of their credentials. You know, I feel some kind of way about paying decent money for things that donโt last. There is absolutely no reason why this should break. God knows how long itโs been brokenโฆ just my naรฏve mind disregarded it for probably a whole year. Smh. I actually bought another one for a family memberโฆ I turned around and took it back from them a few days ago. Iโll just wait for that one to peel itself apart like this one. Being that I still got a great workout from this machine, I was tempted to give it 2 stars, but man, no. I was impressed enough originally and paid for 2? Cut them 2 stars in half; 1 out of 1 star. Reader, beware. Do your research, and go elsewhereโฆ take your time and look at some of the other 1 and 2 star reviews. I had my fill of doing such today. =( We paid our hard-earned dollars for this thing and deserve much better. I hope this helps you in making your purchase. Have a great day! Z.

Great bench for the prize. Highly recommend
You are not buying a professional technogym bench. But for the price this is a very good purchase! I am 90kg and I find it very stable and solid. It is MUCH better than the professional bench in my gym. In that one the range of motion is limited, I bought this one because I needed a proper range of motion due to problems in my back. I am 100% happy with the exercises this bench allows. The item was not difficult to assemble, all nuts and bolts were neatly organized and pieces fit well with no struggle. You find the wrenches in the package but, obviously, itโs easier if you have proper tools. I assembled alone with the tool provided. Had there been two persons and proper tools, assembly would have been a breeze. I am very happy with my purchase

Good.
This was the least expensive angled hyper-extension bench I could find around. Moreover, I wanted one that could be collapsed when not in use since I am in short of space and didn't want something that permanently fills my space. This fits the description well. I fold it and lean it against a wall when I am not using it. I paid $102 + tax. Surprisingly, I am 5'10" and I have set the seat height to its lowest level! So, I am not sure how shorter people are using this (in the reviews, I read some shorter people had no problem with it). Since I have just recently bought this, I can't speak of its durability. It does seem well sturdy for my weight (80kg). On another note, it's not too heavy hence easy to carry around. It is greatly helping me preventing back spasms during these times of covid-19 where I stay home sitting in front of my computer for long periods of time which makes me prone to back spasms. Update #1: I have had it for about 8 months now and I have been using it fairly regularly during this time and it has held up well so far. I use it to strengthen my lower back and glute muscles as well as the core muscles on the sides of my stomach. Update #2: 4 years and still as solid as day one. I have learned that I can also use it to work my mid/upper back muscles. So while positioning in the device, instead of bending my entire back, I only bend my upper back and straighten it up. This movement engages my mid/upper muscles.
