Broadroad LED Pool Light Bulb 120V 65W Daylight White 6000K Swimming Pool 6000LM Pool Light Bulb Replacement for Most Pentair Hayward Light Fixtures (Pool 65W)

So, after several years, the Incandescent bulb, that was installed with my pool, died and needed to be replaced. I wanted something brighter (the old bulb was a standard 500W Flood light) and I wanted a "cool" color (as opposed to the 'warm" color of the standard bulb). I saw this bulb and was impressed with its energy efficiency and its advertised lumens. It was offered at a decent price and had good reviews, so I thought I'd give it a try. It's very good. Installed easily in the existing socket and it's VERY bright. I've had it only for a month, but, so far, I have no complaints. Just one Note: If you've never replaced an in-ground pool light, you should watch some online videos. A water-tight seal is extremely important. This was my first time and I watched the videos. They recommended that you replace the gasket whenever you replace the bulb. I took the advice and purchased a new gasket (from Amazon). I'm sure that made the installation easier and the seal is perfect.

so far so good after 2 weeks, haven't had verry good luck with these led lights very long as they should.

I installed these 2ea in my 30k gallon inground pool. Like most probably somewhat skeptical just because LED are a little harder to get in a more high output capacity. After much comparison I went with these. They are very bright and nicely replaced my 500w bulbs in a pent air and Hayward light fixture. I wish the bulb was rounded on one half side to give more angle to the beam, but still nicely light up pool. They give a blue hue to the water. I gave 4 stars only because the beam angle is not as much as I’d like and it is not multi color which I would have preferred but could not get in higher output. Although these are the real deal and are very adequate.

Did not know that your cheaper LED lights get very hot to the touch. Better to spend 20 bucks more for a major brand bulb

Easy install, and the brightness is prefect.

Over the last 3 years, I have purchased 4 lights even to the point of paying extra for a lifetime warranty. The lifetime warranty didn't really help because the pool light died within 60 days. They did replace the light but the labor cost of having another light installed is disconcerting. Although, the first delivery of this light came broken, after Amazon sent the replacement, I had it installed and it worked great. It's been about a month so we will have to see how long this bulb last.

The Amazon description says 6000LM but box says max of 3400LM so a bit of deceptive advertising. Having said that, the bulb does do a nice job, although wish it was a bit brighter. Also, the beam spread is fairly narrow, probably better for shallow end illumination vs deep end. I've read some other posts about over heating and have only had this one installed for a day (6/16/20). I'll update this review if there are any problems.

I wanted to replace a 500w incandescent with an LED. This fit the bill perfectly.
