Should Have Paid Attention to Negative Reviews - DO NOT BUY
It doesn't fit. I've been using propane with POL thread for many years. This plug just plain does not fit. It easily cross-threads, and it's undersized, so making it gas-tight is difficult or impossible. It simply does not work for its intended use, and the vendor should destroy the entire batch because they are, in my opinion, a safety hazard. I included a picture of another POL plug for comparison. The blue one fits, the red one does not. You can see the difference. It also costs more than it should. Some propane vendors will give you one that fits for free. I requested and received a refund.

Workable Protection
Purchased to protect propane gas tank outlet from insect nests when not connected to camper supply hose. It works for this purpose, but tread fit is a bit sloppy so you need to be careful treading it into the propane tank outlet valve to avoid cross-threading the soft plastic plug on the sharp metal threads of the tank. Remember that the treads are "right hand" [the reverse of the usual "righty-tighty" rule] on propane tank valves, of coarse. Be well.

They work to seal tanks as expected
They do what I expected - plugged and sealed larger propane tanks for long term storage. After screwing in a plug, I opened the valve to test, no leaks. I really wish these were made out of brass, but they do seal up well. Hopefully they will last several years.

Seems to work as advertised.
I have not leak-checked the plug to make sure it completely seals the valve opening when the valve is turned on, but the design and fit of the plug suggests it would do so as long as it is securely tightened.

Simple plug with an extra
This is a simple plug but this has an added feature. It has a cut out that I can attach a tag ( indicating full and/or empty) so at an instant I can tell what is it’s status without picking up several tanks to see if they are full or empty.
