Amazon's product title says these pencils are 0.5mm. That is not correct. The set of 4 pencils are 4 different sizes (0.3, 0.5, 0.7, and 0.9mm). 0.5 and 0.7 are the most commonly used sizes. 0.3mm is very thin and 0.9mm is good for bold writing.The set comes in a nice cardboard gift box. The pencils have plastic bodies that are skinnier than most mechanical pencils. They feel lighter weight than other plastic mechanical pencils and much lighter weight than metal-bodied mechanical pencils. I prefer a wider heavier pencil; maybe these lightweight pencils are better for children. The pencils do all write smoothly.Each pencil has one small built-in eraser. There are no spare erasers. Each pencil comes with 3 leads. Plan on buying extra erasers and leads pretty quickly.$25 seems kind of expensive for what you get, though it is a cute set to give as a gift to a student. Personally, I prefer Pentel's "Twist-Erase" mechanical pencils that are cheaper than these, but are more comfortable in my hand and have much bigger erasers that don't wear out as quickly.

I love these pencils. I have one of the blue ones that’s probably 10-15 years old but wanted the other sizes too and this set is a nice way to get them. I compared my older pencil to the blue in this set and they appear to be exactly the same, so they didn’t cheap out for this set. The only difference seems to be they have “Since 1970” written on the barrel where as the older versions don’t.The box itself is decent but the foam in it kind of stinks at keeping them in place. Since I wouldn’t be using it for long term storage of them, I don’t mind but you might. I see these as a gift set or just a nice way to get the .3, .5., .7. and .9 versions all in one packaging.They hold up well. It does come with a reminder on the box to stock up on leads as this set has two leads per pencils and no refills included.

I really like this Pentel mechanical pencil set. I'm 52, and they definitely take me back to my childhood days in the 1970s. The colors are reissues of the original colors that Pentel made the "Sharp" model pencils, and they definitely nail the retro vibe. The set of four pencils features 0.3mm leads (brown pencil), 0.55mm (black), 0.7mm (blue), and 0.9mm (yellow), making it a nicely varied assortment. The quality is great and the click action works fluidly and reliably for advancing the leads, and the barrels are comfortable to hold. Each pencil has 3 leads and a long eraser. Overall a nice set of good quality mechanical pencils that has the added nostalgia factor for good measure. Thumbs up!

My wife opened this package and immediately said she loves that the retro designs are coming back, so I guess mission accomplished. The pencils are high quality, with different sizes of lead for each color. I do feel that the price is a bit high for just 4 pencils, but the quality means they'll be around for a long time, so I guess it'll all even out.

My father had these same mechanical pencils when he worked on the moon space program. It is very cool to be able to have the ones with the exact same color and look and feel.This classic colors set makes a nice gift for "someone who has everything." It's not very expensive while at the same time it's unique. This makes a nice gift especially for Father's Day or Bosses' Day, etc.And these mechanical pencils work great! "If it ain't broke don't fix it." I will be using them for a long time.
