The French handle is ideal for both the beginner and the more experienced fencer because it enforces point control which is a very important skill to have when fencing. It's a good starting weapon for beginners or school/club fencing programs.

I bought it as a gift for my 9-year old son (I chose the youth size). He loves it. The foil is made very well, the handle is convenient. And also it is safe for everyone, because of the protection cup on the end.
