1500 Grit Diamond Stones and Blank Glass Platens Pack

I'm really liking these stones. They have a silky smooth feel once broken-in and leave a wonderfully effective edge. I finish a couple pocket knives on this stone and they hold their edge very well. I also ordered the 6,3, and 1 micron lapping film with an extra set of handles. They put a wicked mirror polish on a blade. Can pretty much get a scratch free finish with very little effort. I'm sure if someone really put in the effort, they could achieve that scratch-free finish.If you are deciding between these and the 1200/1600 ceramic stones, GET THESE, they are so much better. My ceramics have been collecting dust since the 1500's arrived.Be careful with the glass platens. I dropped one against the WE base and it cracked. Luckily, WE sells them pretty cheaply. I ordered two extras just in case.

Works great. Had to get the lapping films from the wicked edge site but I may not go back to stropping. Haven't used the 1500 grit yet since after 1000 diamond I usually go to my ceramics but I'm sure its great. Feels obviously finer than the 1000 diamond but slightly more aggressive than the ceramics which it will since it's diamond. Lapping keeps the edge 100% flat. Looks and cuts amazing.

This 1500 grit diamond side is great. I just wish it had something else on the other side. I am not all that interested in lapping films because of the high cost. I prefer the higher grit diamond stones because the course grit leaves scratches you can never seem to polish out.

I love having these as an addition to the rest of my stones as it really comes in handy get in that mirror finish
