Q: I want to connect 2 desks together. If i put one magnet on one desk and another magnet on the other desk, will they connect, or do i flip one magnet?

All the magnets have the same polarity so the front of one magnets attract the back of another. They repel face to face or back to back.

Q: What is the thread size of the magnet screws?

These powerful neodymium (Nd) magnets come with the metric equivalent of an imperial #8 x 3/4 wood screw. I checked the indent with #6 and #10 flat head screws. All three sizes fit. Nut the screw that comes with the magnets isn’t important. Use any #6, #8, or #10 FH screw that your proj ct requires. The important item is that these 1.25” x .2” Nd magnets are powerful! Rated at 12 kg (~25 lb) pull force, each magnet can support a 25 lb weight if not pulled vertically. That’s a lot of magnetic attraction. I’m using one to attach a 4 lb engineers hammer to a cast iron I-beam by a work bench. No movement at all with that heavy hammer.

Do other magnets stick to the metal frame of your booth? If so, then yes, you should be able to use the screws that are provided to fasten the magnets to the board. Space the magnets so they align with the frame of your booth. These magnets are extremely strong, but they are also brittle - meaning if you let them slam together or to your booth, they may chip or crack. If that happens, just replace with one of the others.

Q: Has anyone tried these with 8x4 foot wall paneling?

no - but I HAVE used it on heavy metal installations. you might get a little slide if you used only 4 corners, but I am MORE than confident that a standard 1/2" thick plywood board would stay put if you did 8 spots (corners and half-way marks). These are BEASTS ... when I put metal onto them, I have to be careful not to let it slam on to hard or I might hurt my fingers. If you're doing anything LESS than 1/2", like simple decorative paneling - it's a no-brainer, 100% yes.
