Bosch Cookie Paddles, for Bosch Universal Kitchen Machine

replaced the old cookie paddles with new ones. The old ones had the plastic gears wearing too much. Expect another five years.

We really like the Bosch Universal Kitchen Machine concept; however, we haven't been able to buy one yet, although we plan to. The purchase of the cookie paddles was in anticipation of the mixer purchase - when the budget is healthier.What is the difference between the ratings of Durability and Sturdiness? Is Sturdiness a short-term rating and Durability a long-term rating?

The Bosch Universal Plus mixer is very powerful. The cookie paddles work fine as long as you aren't mixing cold butter or after you begin adding flour to cookie dough. At that point you want to switch attachments and begin using the dough hook to finish mixing. Otherwise, you run the risk of putting too much torque on the plastic cookie paddle and it will break.

They work well as long as you do not use them on cold butter

I recently got married and was able to purchase a friend's older Bosch model, as she was upgrading. My meager budget and kitchen collection was ecstatic to be able to invest in such an awesome machine. Only downside, it did not come with the cookie paddles. Amazon came to the rescue and I found them easily and received them quickly.The product itself has been great - I haven't had any problems. My mom had a problem with hers cracking a couple of years ago, but these are still going strong for me. They're great for more than just cookies, although my cookie-loving husband puts these to work for oatmeal chocolate chip cookies more than anything else. They wash up SUPER easily and I think we'll get a lot of wear out of them.Only minor less-than-glowing comments:Small batches of anything, including cookies, are honestly not the Bosch's strong suit - this is a powerhouse machine that can handle things like large batches of bread dough like no other (when it stripped two gears of the Kitchenaid pro mixer) ...but there have been times I've had to mix something small (small batch of cookies, frosting, filling, etc.) by hand because the paddles just don't get close enough to the bottom to grab all the ingredients. Having grown up with the same machine, I was aware of this, but it wasn't a big deal...I come from a family of 12, so small batches weren't something we had much need for, anyway. :) As a newlywed with just the two of us, however, it's a little different. Just so you're aware, smaller batches aren't the best match for the Bosch. Anyway...Yes, sometimes you have to exert a little oomph to snap on/remove the paddles to/from the metal whip drive. Be sure you're pushing in or pulling straight out from the angle at which it's mounted. In addition, I hand wash/air dry them - I don't think the heat from the dishwasher does the plastic any favors in longevity.Overall, I'm happy with the purchase and they get the job done!

Not sure how safe it is.

I was nervous to purchase these because I saw a lot of reviews about how they had broken so quickly. The first time I used them I read the instructions and realized there are some very specific things you should not use them for. DO NOT use them with cold butter, DO NOT use them with big batches, and DO NOT use them with hard ingredients such as oatmeal raisins or nuts. If you follow the instructions you should be fine. I will include pictures of the instructions with my review.The first time I used them I made a double batch of oatmeal cookies and used the cookie paddles for the first half of the recipe but stopped once I needed to add the rest of the flour oatmeal and mix-ins and used the dough hook instead. The mixture was so thick by the end I would not have been surprised if the cookie paddles had broken had I kept them on, so listen to the instructions and use them for what they are intended and you should have confidence in purchasing them!Update 08/24/2021I have been using these for a long time now, every time I make cookies. I have gotten somewhat lax and have used the paddles to make oatmeal cookies, and I have even used butter that wasn't completely softened but I do cut it up into small pieces and they have worked fine. I still stand by if you follow the instructions and directions you should be fine but they can handle a little bit more if you are careful.

If I didn't love my Bosch mixer so much I wouldn't buy these. This is my third set of paddles. The mixer does a great job, but the paddles don't hold up all that well. If the paddle hits anything slightly hard (butter that isn't completely soft etc.) then the gear sheers off in your batter, which is always fun to try and find so no one has to bite into a plastic part. They are made of heavy duty compressed plastic but the gears can only take so much torque. I have had my mixer for nearly 5 years and bake constantly so I guess 3 sets of paddles isn't bad? I just wish the gears were made of metal. I have to continue to buy if I want to use my mixer I guess.

These are ineffective to mix cookie batter and broke after using them less than 5 times. Doesn't seem that there's any way to return them. Don't waste your $.

They warn you multiple times not to use these on cold butter. Trust them and listen or you will be purchasing a second time like I am. They work great when used properly.

Perfect will buy again. I wish they made the little gears out of metal so they held up better!

Exact same quality as my original paddles that I had for 15 years. My original were good up until my daughter used them for a “cookie in a jar” mix and the brown sugar was like rocks.
