Little Very Good Book About A Great Artist.
The initial entry in the Victoria and Albert Museum's Fashion Series, this volume is a very nicely done introduction to this incomparable artist. It feels (briefly) comprehensive, yet it inspires one to dig deeper and learn more about Balenciaga's life and art. Buy it. Read it. Savor the photographs.

All About Couture
This is a nice book. Not great, but nice. I bought this book thinking it would make a great coffee table book. This book is actually more of a primer. It is softcover and a bit small to be a coffee table book. Also not as many lush color photographs as I would have liked. What I did like was that this book was very well researched and informative without being dry and pedantic. The book goes into great detail explaing how a true "Maison de Couture" worked in the 1950s. It even shows an actual bill for couture dresses bought!A good read for the book shelf but not the coffee table!

One book that is a must for avid fashion book collectors. Great text and photos as well as history. I continue to enjoy it long after my purchase.
