is this good for picking up dog hair

Yes, i have two short haired dogs. But originally got it for threads in my sewing room. Dog hair gets all over the sweeper. But out gets picked up. Its faster and easier than the vacuum. Only problem is that out losses power when pin any rugs.

does it work on sculptered carpet

Same as another response. Best on floor, okay on carpet. Of course for carpet vacuum cleaner best. I am ordering another. After awhile they break down. I love the sweeper!

does it do a good job

it does an excellent job, but is not a substitute for vacuum. the dirt is sucked up into the sweeper, and there are 2 buttons to squeeze to empty the dirt. all of the little brushes underneath can be taken out to clean them. mine does a good job on cat litter. the only thing you must be careful about is: DON'T LEAVE THE BATTERY PLUGGED IN OVERNIGHT! this will totally wear it out and you'll need a new one.
