Tongue Hand Pan/RAV Vast 2 / D Celtic Minor / (in case) (Steel Drum/Hand Pan/Tank Drum)

My Hand Pan arrived today and I couldn't be more thrilled! Not only did it arrive before the Hurricane Irma (yay! I have an "excuse" to play it when the power goes out), but this birthday present to myself arrived well in time for my birthday, AND it sounds absolutely beautiful! It is easy to play and I know that myself and my fellow musicians will have many hours of happiness because of it. Thank you so much for the great care you took in packing my Hand Pan - it arrived safe and sound and beautiful! I will recommend you all any time anyone asks me "where did you get that"? Thank you, again!

I absolutely love my D-minor Rav Vast drum! I host and I attend drum circles, and it's always a big hit. The tone is rich and resonant -- it's just beautiful. Everybody wants to try it!The drum keeps its tuning beautifully, as well. I put a tuner on my three year old drum, and the tuning is spot-on -- but I had to dampen the overtones to get a clear reading.A couple tips:1) I bought this from a U.S. distributor for many hundreds of dollars less than the $1400 listing here, and I picked it up (no wait) at his house. I think I paid about $850, including the case. Poke around with a search engine -- these are in-stock at several places in the USA, much cheaper.2) I prefer to play with my hands, but cloth mallets are very beginner-friendly.3) A cloth-seat camp tripod chair makes a good display stand (I paid $10 at Dick's). Not much good for playing the drum, but it gets it off the floor when it's not in use.4) It might rust, a little -- early versions like mine had finish problems, which my distributor tells me have been resolved by the manufacturer. If yours rusts, clean it up with Froglube paste gun cleaner, which you can get on Amazon. It works great -- cleans and protects.

worth the too long month wait and its only musically limited aspect, is player versatility
