My girlfriend loves this book. It is the best field guide I have ever seen and has many great illustrations

book is a great start for info but not for comparing pictures , I actually don't use this one often

Amazing field guide with great descriptions and illustrations. The book has an easy to use layout and is smaller in size than my other field guides but has just as much information. When I first ordered this book it came with the back cover ripped almost off but as soon as I contacted Amazon I got my replacement the next day before even returning the original damaged book! Highly recommended this field guide to add to your collection!

I rarely sit down and actually read a guide, but I've spent time doing that with this one. The I illustrations are gorgeous, the chart to narrow down possibilities is great, and the information is both useful and, at times, seems a little tongue-in-cheek. And the mushroom names (for a mushroom newbie) are so interesting!

Purchased this for my wife for general interest reading/browsing rather than use as a field guide. It would be fantastic for both purposes, but the drawings really make it aesthetically pleasing vs. a photo-only field guide.
