Aurora - Miyoni - 45" Gunga

This cost more than I wanted to spend, but it’s well-made and good quality. Bought it for grandkids “jungle room”. They love it!

I just had this gentle giant delivered today, and when I first saw the box, I KNEW that he was humongous!! At first, before taking him out of the giant-size box, it looked as though I was having a huge room air conditioner delivered!!He's very kind and gentle, and he looks almost real!! One would probably be frightened of Gunga at first sight!He took over my desk chair right away. Had to wait for him to finish using the computer. Hah!! Now he's relaxing in his favorite easy chair watching TV. He stays in the sitting position, so if you lay him down, his legs will stick up. His big brown eyes look so real and are glassy. He also has some weight on him - one of the heaviest stuff animals that I've ever lifted!!How could anyone not want this life-size lovable big cuddly hairy sweet gentle monster in their home to look at and think of as a real live gorilla?! Truly authentic! He even has nipples on his chest!! A friend for life!!I've watched the film Gorillas in the Mist many, many times, I was always intrigued by the movie and wondered what it would be like sitting next to a live gorilla. I'll probably never know, but having Gunga in the house makes me FEEL like having a live gorilla around!! And since I can't have a dog here, by Gunga being here, he fills the missing gap of longing for a dog in the house!!He just melted my heart right up and now, Gunga is the only "pet" that I'll ever need in my house!!! One look at this awesome sweet lovable gorilla, and you'll "fall in love" with him and you won't ever want to part with him!! He makes me feel like a kid all over again!!!~Linus Oakerie.

It's every bit as cool and fun as it looks. Love how big it is. I'd give it a 9.8 out of 10. The only mark against it for me is the hair feels just a little bit plasticy. Just a little. But I'm really looking for something to criticize there. I'm giving it to my 2 1/2 year old nephew for the holidays. And I'm certain he's going to love it. It's been sitting around the house for a couple weeks and my wife and I smile every time we see it. I think she might be getting one for me. It's really fun.Update: My nephew really liked it and even at 3, he's into everything gorilla now. He sleeps with it. He lays on it to draw and color and watch tv. He was frightened of it for about 10 seconds and it's been his best buddy ever since.

My 5-year-old grandson when asked what he wanted for his 6th birthday replied:" a huge gorilla !!" I thought he must be joking. Where was I going to find one and why did he want one in the first place hehe. Well...after a short search at my very favorite store (kudos to amazon) I find the exact gorilla I'd found on many websites including the manufacturers website for 100$ less at the very least. I couldn't resist this big fellow. When he came, all I could think about was how to keep him for myself! Haha. She ( my grandson refers to him as a he) is adorable and quite life like. She's heavy so little ones can't lug her around but a growing 6 year old boy had no problem even though she was as tall sitting down as he was standing up...almost!For me, might sound a bit loony here but..., she has a great shoulder to cry on and listens without offering advice or how to fix it! She is comforting to my grandson who was experiencing night terrors about "things" in his room. She is like a guardian angel to him, it seems. He's taken her to show and tell at school where all the kids in his class immediately wanted one!She is well made. Fur doesn't cone out even when baby sis tugs and pulls at it. She/he can wear about a 4T in clothing which makes it fun. It's easier to put her in dresses as she doesn't stand up. This is another well-crafted stuffed animal that will last for ages!!

I researched several sites before looking carefully again (and again) at this Aurora Plush "Gentle Giant." We bought it as an afterschool friend for our grandchild who comes to our house every day after school before going home to Mom and Dad. Since he's an only child, we thought it would be fun if he had a "friend" here. He is 5 yrs old and he took to the gorilla immediately. He has visited our zoo often and is familiar with many animals, but this one really is lovable. Her expression is quite benign and funny--not scary at all. Every day I do something around her so he can see "what she's done" while he's gone. He also has a toy colobus monkey so that's the one who gets things from high shelves, etc to "play" with. It's really silly but he loves it. He comes home and gives her a big hug and sits by her for quite a while. Fur is soft and does come out if he picks her up but only a few hairs (our cat is worse). She doesn't stand, just sits. Mouth is closed so kids can't put things in her mouth. We take her as female because males have silver backs. We looked up names in Zulu and Swahili and he chose one for her. I recommend this friend very highly! She is soft all over except her nose but I don't feel styrofoam there. Ears are velvety and so is face.

super cute! good quality for the most part, but it won't sit up so it is always a trip hazard! For the money I wouldn't recommend it.

My son bought this with his own money & was amazingly excited to get him. I would give it 5 stars except that Gunga arrived with two very large holes in the seams. Luckily I was able to sew them closed & it is furry enough that you cannot see the repair. But very disappointing for the price. Otherwise my son absolutely loves Gunga!
