Needs lots of adult support, not sure they remain engaging for long
I used these cars with my 8-year-old and he did sit and discuss them some of with me- but I’m not sure how much he will be happy to come back and finish looking at the rest of the pack or go over any of the cards again. I love the idea- framed to think of how a superhero would respond and encourage them to the respond to similar situations in a similar manner but I’m just not sure the cards were engaging enough- there are no set answers of course but no suggestions either (on the cards for the child on in a booklet for parents). I think much younger children might struggle without a fair bit of guidance. I couldn’t really think of a way to make this into a more fun game- the one instruction card just says shuffle the cards, pick a card and ponder the answers/do the superhero deed. The cards are split into 5 themes which are colour codes so if your child is struggling in one area you can select one colour set. These include concentration, curiosity, encouragement, friendliness and super-secret skills (this covered sitting quietly, knowing your own strengths, using words like please and thank you). There were also 3 traffic light cards to use for behaviour that might be familiar to your children from school- these either celebrate superhero behaviour or encourage them to think about how a real superhero might act.

Nice concept for emotional openness, better for younger ones
This is a really lovely concept for encouraging thoughtfulness, empathy and emotional openness and I've found it to be effective. It is fun for the kids, and very interesting seeing how they open up when questions are phrased in certain ways. I've definitely heard mine talking about things they previously haven't revealed thanks to these. We've got this set and the Mindful one, and my eldest (9) is more receptive to that one. I'd say the superhero set is more attuned to younger kids, wrapping the concepts in terms they engage with more freely.

Good inspiration
Rather than use as intended, these are great to help a class with low self esteem as they have given me lots of ideas for activities to do over the year (used with year 3 but easily adapted). Good teacher or TA resource.

Interesting idea, great way to get the kids thinking
I thought I'd give these a go with my kiddos aged 6 and 8, I like the idea behind it - helping kids to practice their mindfulness skills. There are lots of thought provoking ideas on the cards that really helped my kids to slow down and think outside the box.My only criticism is that my 6 year old struggled to read the font used on the cards, my 8 year old was fine. I understand that the font is in keeping with the design theme of the cards but for some reason my 6 year just looked at it and thought I'm not even going to try and read it, which was a shame.Other than I really like this pack and would recommend it to parents.

Mindfulness thought experiments for younger children
My little boy is autistic and his therapists do a lot of work with him on mindfulness, this being important in building up his skills in relating to other people, so these 'Inner Superhero' cards are one of the activities we have tried at home with him. They are essentially mindfulness exercises on how one would respond positively and unselfishly to various hypothetical events. There's also a secondary use to them, which I thought was gilding the lily somewhat, of using the various coloured cards as reward points, etc, which I don't think works well, hence a star off.Not something you would use very often, but well done and a reasonable price.

Ideal for encouraging emotional literacy within a Classroom Setting
This is a really nice set of cards that are great for encouraging reasoning skills, empathy and understanding in younger children. The cards pose scenarios or questions such as "How do you recognise that someone needs help?" or "How can a superhero encourage themselves?" These kind of open questions are great for developing tactics for empathy and emotional literacy - describing how things feel, how we can help and when we need to ask for help. I ordered these for my daughter to use in her Year 5 classroom - I think these will be great as quick prompts and question posers that can help to fill transition times. Brightly coloured and with child friendly illustrations, I think these are a great way of encouraging empathy.

Interesting concept
Great quality cards with nice graphics and illustrations.Do take some prompting but can lead to some interesting discussions. I think these would work really well in a classroom setting.
