"WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE?!" As a man once said, "If you don't know, you don't know." When you get enough hair on your face & determine that you have a beard, ask it, "What difference does it make what I use to comb you?" There are many options from a plethora of companies, offering beard combs made from metal, plastic or wood. And even within the realm of wooden combs, they are not all made the same or the same types of wood. So having now used several types from all 3 materials, I have used nothing that compares to the ease & comfort from combing with the Beard & Bates Sandalwood Switchblade. I have now purchased two: one for my car and one to use inside my home. There has to be a science behind the scenes to makes this wooden comb work so extremely well at combing a beard. It is sturdy, stiff enough to remain open yet providing enough give to keep it closed. The smell of the wood is absolutely wonderful, and again, when you comb your beard, the two of you will say, "Ahhhhhhhhhhh." It costs a bit more than others, but it is built to be beautiful and it is built to last. It is undoubtedly worth it.~No diggity, No doubt~UPDATE - 3/10/2021: Gentlemen, or for the ladies considering purchasing this for their men, PLEEEEEEAASE BE SURE TO ADD THE LEATHER CASE!!! I own two of these combs; one for my bathroom and the other to keep in my car. Since I have a comb in my car, I keep it in the leather case. I do not drive much, so to my very pleasant surprise, the first time I removed the comb from the case, the smell of Sandalwood EXPLODED IN MY CAR! AWESOME TO MY OLFACTORY! While you can smell the Sandalwood on its own own, containing within the case essentially turned the smell into a cauldron of puuuuuurrrreee comfort. It is awesome, and just makes the entire experience using this comb even more spectacular. BOOM!!!!!

Never realized how bad I needed a proper beard comb until I got this! At first I was quite skeptical about buying a wood comb, worrying about how well it would work considering all other combs in my life have been plastic. But actually having this in my hand, my skepticism is no more! This comb is build really well, it feels nice and solid and comfortable in my meaty hands. I didn't realize just how tangled my beard was until I started brushing it out using this. I own and use the Viking Revolution folding comb as well as this Beard & Bates comb. In comparison, for the money, the Viking Revolution comb blows it out of the water! They are both made of Sandalwood and for less than $10.00 you get a much nicer presentation box with the Viking Revolution comb as well as the pouch! The box that the Beard & Bates comb comes in is a joke compared to it. For $25.00, I would expect more. The comb itself is very nice as well as the pouch but I don’t think it’s that much nicer than the Viking Revolution comb especially for the cost difference! If Beard & Bates would spend a little more on packaging it’s comb, they would probably have fewer reviewers complaining about cracked or broken combs.

Smooth & good grip

Liked the style, liked the way it worked less than 4 weeks the pivot pin fell out don’t know where, so now it’s crap. I use beard balm, needed a comb like this so the balm wouldn’t get on my pocket or lint from pocket get stuck to comb cause of beard balm. Not very happy. For the price it shouldn’t have come apart that quick.

I highly recommend this comb. My husband has broken a few beard combs because he carries them in his front pocket. I saw this comb and gifted it to him. He loved the idea of it being a flip comb and it is well made. Perfect gift for your bearded loved ones

Overall it’s a good comb, glides through my rather thick beard quite well. However, it absolutely does not smell like sandal wood at all, not even faintly. In fact, it smells more like Elmer’s wood glue which is pretty disappointing.

Great deal for a quality product!!!
