Lovely gift.
Bought this for my great niece. She is delighted with it and is already making cards and gifts with it. She is a reall crafter even at 5 years old. Needed help to align the screws in the corners but has loved being able to pick flowers and press them.

dont bother, way overpriced for what you receive
Came in no packaging so box badly damaged, sticky delivery labels plastered all over the front of the box, when tried to remove sticky residue left behind, inside just bits of faintly painted wood and 5 pieces of smelly cardboard, screws were in a torn ,open envelope so had come out and were rolling around. Disgraceful packaging and value for money. was to be a present but will just bin as too late to replace as was to be a gift, no paperwork to enable me to return

It WORKS but corrugated cardboard not the best idea...
The media could not be loaded. If you’ve ever pressed petals or leaves in between the pages of an old hardback book, this follows the same basic principle. It’s essentially two planks of wood with multiple sheets of cardboard in which you can press your petals; the bonus is the bolts on the corners that enable you to apply even and sustained pressure across the petals so they are perfectly flat and dry up a few weeks after you put them in the press. So, I had a go and it definitely works, albeit with variable success. I think leaves, petals or tiny flowers work best and come out incredibly smooth, papery thin and perfectly flat. Pretty cool.HOWEVER, my main problem using this was that the card sheets provided (just standard corrugated cardboard) left inorganic pressure lines across all my petals, which would never have happened had they been pressed in between the smooth pages of an old book...I think I will have to try the press again using my own thin sheets of craft card or similar (nothing corrugated) and I’m sure it will work better. There is an element of fun here that makes the press potentially suitable as a crafts activity to do with children - but I think the fun lies more in the preparation stages rather than the end result, especially with the dried pieces being so fragile and difficult for children to handle without them disintegrating (I recommend using a tweezer!) I think the press has scope for being a helpful crafts tool for teens and adult though; just needs some experimenting with.

Not just for children
I love pressing flowers and using them in resin so this has been brilliant for me. Two pieces of wood with multiple pieces of cardboard so you can press lots of flowers rather than just one lot. The only thing would be is that sometimes the screws start turning while I’m trying to tighten or loosen them. I worry this will only get worse with time as the wood will slowly break down. But for now it’s still doing it’s job and working well for me.Since it is aimed at children though, the design is pretty and children would enjoy choosing flowers to press, probably older children. My youngsters didn’t have much interest but I definitely do!

Handy kids flower and leaf press
Handy little flower and leaf press. It comes in two wooden press and the top one is decorated and coated. Cut out cardboard box is included. It serves as plates to put each flower or leaf on top of each other. Then you screw all the bolts in and tighten it depending on how flat you want the result to be. I find the result not as good as a flower or leaf pressed on a book. I prefer the book press as it dries out quickly and it doesn't go very think. With this press you have to be careful not too tighten the screws too tight otherwise it presses the liquid out of the flower or leaf and makes it a bit moldy when kept too long. But we have created a project using this press. Took a bit of adjusting but got the right result after a few days of testing.

A nice little flower press
This is a nice little flower press and is just the thing to start young children off on this lovely hobby - although I think 3 years old is a little young, I find that at that age they want fast results. The pack comes with pieces of cardboard, I’ve never used that for pressing before but it really is a good idea - however just using the cardboard tends to leave lines on the flowers or leaves that have been pressed, it’s probably an idea to use pieces of card or blotting paper between the flower and the card to stop this from happening. This is a lovely set and one that can bring lots of pleasure to children from about 6 years of age.

Card is just That - Card
I expected the cards to be thicker. These are the same quality you sometimes get with champagne glasses, the cards that come inside the box, separating them, preventing them from clinking together (two thicker layers of paper with a wavy sheet in the middle). I did not expect that, I thought it will be something that will last us a couple of years, this looks more like something disposable, to be honest - you press a bit harder and it leaves a mark on the cards surface. Not well thought through. The idea is lovely, however. It is relatively fiddly and requires some skill as a child has to hold a screw under the base, the base sits on it, then someone has to hold the stash of these cards sitting in place and the top lid that has to be aligned with the base (which is tricky with squishy cards trying to slide out and all over). So the design demands to be altered as a child (or even a pair of them) will struggle to keep it all in one place while screwing it together. Not sure it is really worth the money.UPDATE: The result is lovely and I believe the density of the card was chosen wisely. It is not reusable but, then, it so appears it is not supposed to be. A wonderful flower press.
