Fast thermal printer
Fast and easy use for this printer. It is not plug-and-play. Must have some technical knowledge if you want to use it with IP. If installed in a USB port you must remember the port used because if you unplug it and plug it back in at another USB port it will stop working. You must uninstall using the app, then restart and reinstall using the app and another restart. That is my experience with this printer. Besides this if you install it and don't mess around with the USB ports it works great and fast. Love the paper-cutting technology included.

Event tool?
As an event photographer, I like to print receipts on the spot for people because the moment you start doing emailed or some type of electronic receipt, you get the one person that holds up the line requesting a print out and who has time to write one up when you’ve got a line of 15 families staring at youIt prints Very well and does exactly what it supposed. toI basically use a simple setup that has a square rotating iPad holder with a built-in card reader plus I also use a wireless card reader as it does the chips and This device is ethernet connected so I can’t use it on the system currently and it’s really gonna be used for my desktop units. Send receipts with the online purchases. Now I am curious to see if there is a Bluetooth to ethernet adapter out there or interface that would allow me to use this also as a wireless device. Yes, you can buy the units already with the Bluetooth built-in, but I decided to try this as a hardwired device for durability and trust ability.I can definitely say it’s a good printerReceipt Printer, Thermal Receipt Printer, POS Printer Support Cash Drawer, Restaurant Kitchen Printer with Auto Cutter, USB/Serial/Ethernet Interface, Compatible with Windows/Mac/Linux

Included manual for different printer, no mechanical power switch
The solid-state power button is a critical oversight for specific applications where you want to control the power to multiple devices from one power strip or smart plug. A mechanical power switch allows you to control the power state when power is applied. As far as I can tell, you always need to press the power button to turn the device on; I could not find any configuration setting in the manual that would provide control over this behavior. Additionally, the manual details features this printer does not include (e.g., WiFi, Bluetooth, photo-coupler for determining if the printed receipt has been removed). Otherwise, I had no issues installing paper and setting up the printer. Print speed and quality are both perfectly adequate.

Lots of connection options
The printer is well built, easy to load and unload, and adheres to the standard ESC/POS command set. It has the typical standard features of a knife to auto cut the receipts - and it cuts all the way, unlike some printers, and it supports a cash drawer. The best feature is that it has versatile input options. You can connect it via RS232 serial, USB, or ethernet. As we have stations that use all of those, it's great to have a printer that supports them all in one package.Software is available from Rongta's web site, and you can find drivers for Macintosh, Linux, and Windows. I tried the drivers on all platforms and they work nicely. However, the defaults for the serial and ethernet ports may need to be changed. Ethernet is set to a fixed address by default, with DHCP turned off. You can read the default address from the printer test page, but it's never a good idea to plug a device into your network before verifying that it won't interfere with another device. Changing serial and ethernet parameters is possible using Rongta's available printer software, but that's only available for Windows, so even if your POS software runs on another platform, you'll still need Windows for setup.Once the printer is set up it works flawlessly.
