A Cut Way Above the Others
Recently I put together several different cat towers. GleePet's was the best, by far. I noticed the difference immediately: GleePet's package was much heavier than the others, even ones for trees that were taller than this. That's because the material is more solid and sturdy than any other cat trees I got. All the trees were about equally hard/easy to put together; GleePet's instructions were slightly better. But where GleePet really shines is in the little details. These people THOUGHT about their product. All the trees had complicated assembly pictures which labeled each piece with a letter. GleePet, however, actually added a small sticker to the piece so that you could easily tell which one it was. (My least-favorite tree didn't label things at all and I had to continually measure each piece to see if it was the 35 cm leg or the 38.5 cm leg...) This labeling made assembly much quicker and easier. Best of all, GleePet made the two different sizes of screws different colors. I made one of the classic assembly mistakes: I used the wrong screw in the base. By the time I realized my error, most of the tree was built. How could I possibly find where I used the wrong screw? With GleePet's tree it was simple: that screw was bronze, not silver. I found it in seconds, replaced it... and finished building my tree.Little things like that make a world of difference. This was a solid, beautiful tree. GleePet made assembly as easy as possible and also made it easy to correct your mistakes.

So far we're happy with our cat tree
So far we're happy with our cat tree. When we get home, we normally find 1 of our cats sleeping on top of the house/box and the other cat on the next level up. Although young cats, they're not small kittens (currently about 8lbs and growing), and they're incredibly ungraceful at jumping up the levels (this is saying more about our cats than the tower, as our cats also don't seem to be able to jump onto a bed without pulling themselves up the last few inches). They can jump up it, but sometimes they resort to climbing the twine-covered pillars to reach the 3rd level. I'm sure this practice will eventually shred the brown covering on the 3rd level as they dig in to pull themselves up over the ledge, but it's looking ok so far. I guess if a cat's not graced with jumping genes, a cat's got to climb, so I'm glad it's designed in a way they can "climb it like a tree", too.The 2nd level does not extend out much beyond the 3rd level, so when the cats do jump, they have to jump from level 1 up to level 3. I don't think it's a design flaw, as it puts more weight down low to keep the tower from being too top heavy, while stabilizing the towers. The jump from level 1 to 3 does not look outrageous, even our cats *can* do it, they just miss sometimes and end up dangling from their front claws. We have ours up against a wall and we haven't had any issues with stability.Update: the 2nd highest platform, is getting loose and there's no way to tighten it. The cats don't mind it and they roll with it as it wobbles under their weight, but we're getting a little concerned. It may need to be removed.Update - 7 months later: The 2nd highest tower came toppling down today.

Rich brown color to the carpet and hasn't tipped over (yet).
Overall, I'd buy it again. I went with four stars because it could be sturdier. I'd like it better if the posts fastened onto the platforms more securely - they have only one bolt which goes into a hollow tube. But I have to say that as of this posting, none of our three house cats has been able to do more than rock it a little when they hit it at a full-out run during an action movie-type chase scene around the house! The sisal seems to be fastened firmly onto the posts and again, so far, no cat has been able to loosen any part of it - and believe, me they've tried. The house holds all of a five pound cat and most of a fourteen pound cat - or parts of both at the same time. And the two big cats ( both 14-15 lbs. - Siamese and ragdoll) curl up comfortably on the platforms. So, yeah, I give it a solid four stars.

though she still prefers the older one better cause it has some padding to it
Our Missy Kitty likes it, though she still prefers the older one better cause it has some padding to it. That would be the only drawback to this cat tree, no padding. Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars. She is about 12 lbs, so it works great for larger kitties. I think I might add a little padding to the 2 top perches, that might make a difference for her, She does use it and the top of the shelter a great spot to put her food bowl. We bought it when we got our new (large) puppy since she needed something higher to give her a safe place out of reach. It's her favorite scratching post.

My cat was on the tower in minutes!
Great cat tree - and incredibly inexpensive compared to the box store varieties! Goes together very easily - one person, a couple minutes. It looks nice - I got the brown. All the posts are wrapped with twine and my cat uses them for scratching. The whole tree is very stable except the topmost platform...but that could also be because my guy is pretty big! Doesn't stop him from getting up there though and watching the world go by outside the window. I wish the box was a little larger so i could add a blanket and he could really cozy up in there, but other than that, I'm satisfied. I would buy this again...and I just might!

Great Cat Tree!
I love this cat tree, but more importantly, my little buddy Max loves it. It does not shake or tilt when he leaps on it, the lower levels are long/high enough for him to comfortably scratch his claws on and the color is as depicted.Max is a little afraid of heights, so he would not have gone on the highest tier. I left it off. I took the post and level and assembled them anyway and left it on the floor. Now he has TWO places to scratch away. Very cool.He like the house and the second highest tier, though he is a little big for it.Easy to assemble, all parts present with extra screws, tool included, and looks good too. Definitely would recommend this to friends.

Happy kitty.
My cat loved it immediately. He's a big cat and he had out grown his old one. This one fit his room perfectly. Yes I said his room. He's spoiled like that. The baby gate is to keep my 2 year old out of there. He's got room to lough now. Came together quick, even with my 2 year olds help. Lol

Super Kratzbaum!
