So this thing is the bomb except the marks showing the midpoint of each drilling location is in shadow. No lie, you’re going to be needing a for real light and your buddy’s thick glasses to see these tiny lines hidden away in the dark recesses of the tool. My advice to you and hopefully the manufacturer is to take that line and, using a laser or straightedge or something equally accurate transfer it to the outer edges of the clamp part of the tool. Such an easy fix that I can’t believe it wasn’t already done. As the kids say, bruh! Other than that, fantastic. Solid, good tolerances, and easy to use (except for the above). I would definitely buy again for mortises or drilling into end grain.

Good sturdy Aluminum base and steel inserts. East to use however I found it moved a bit no matter how I tightened the lever. I thought for a bit and decided to apply 320 grit self sticking sandpaper to both of the clamping surfaces and viola perfect with no movement at all.

It feels solid and tightens smoothly. You have to be careful about how you line up the jig. I found a 1/16” difference in the centering of the holes, which is enormous if you’re using this to perfectly align two boards. I then made sure to tighten the jig the same way each time. For example, press against the front each time you tighten it and the holes are more likely to line up.The main reason for a 3-star review is the guidelines are really hard to see. They are tucked away behind the very top of the view port in the metal exterior. Worse, they are a muted light grey color against a dark grey background. When sawdust makes an appearance, you can’t really see the line at all.

I was successful the first time using it to precisely drill centered holes for a hidden hinge. Eager to try more projects. Feels like good quality, plenty sturdy.
