This is a good movie. Very entertaining

Quite a high body count, the Chinese criminal death toll in particular. Pretty lowbrow, but that's what was intended. It's Jason Statham at his second best (I still think his Guy Ritchie roles are him at his best), which is still pretty good. The usual assortment of bad guys, bad cops & bad politicians. The precocious kid of course. What it didn't have was the usual hot woman that he meets along the way. So I guess that was unique.The one disappointing thing was they didn't show the face of the hostess at the Russian club. I say that as it was the actress that played Irina, Tony Soprano's Russian mistress. That face belongs on screen. Still overall, worth a watch if an action or Stathan fan.

Jason Statham is known for his tremendous physically charged action movies and I don't think he ever made a movie that I didn't like. But, for some reason, this particular movie is my favorite I think. His interaction with Young Catherine Chan as Mei was some of his best acting. In most of his films, he's the cool headed, emotionless, lethal powerhouse. His explosive martial arts prowess is pretty dampened impressive. You just can't choreograph talent like he displays. Oh, I'm sure the action segments and fight scenes were indeed choreographed, but you can't just 'teach' that kind of skills 'on the set' ..no...Mr. Statham is a genuine, highly trained individual whom has obviously devoted an amazing amount of effort and determination to his discipline to be that bad @$$. We've established that. But the way he portrayed being 'saved' from a shattered life, a murdered wife, and the razors edge of suicide because the hopeless little Mei needs him; gives him a purpose to not give in to despair but get up and fight, and fight HARD for her is just ...well...great! Here's a quick summary: Stathan's character is an ex police officer that has been betrayed by a corrupt department. They hang him out to dry, letting all the criminals (especially the Russian mafia he'd gone afoul of) tear his life to peices...They let him live. But it's no life. Anyone he talks to, will die. Anyone he gets close to, they'll die. He is not even allowed to live anywhere or it will be destroyed. ..Mei, a small child that has an amazing photographic mind. ANY number, ANY, no matter how long or complex, she can remember it ...perfectly. Flawlessly. The Chinese Mafia use her as a human numbers book. All operations, all payments, all COMBINATIONS, are stored on the wet ware that is her brain. No paper trail. No computers to hack. There's just Mei and her mind. When the information in her head becomes too valuable to let her continue to live less she be compromised and forced to reveal immeasurable wealth and power, she has to flee certain death from her former "fathers" --vicious gangsters that would blow her brains out in an instant-- knowing this horrible truth about her situation, she makes a run for it...And she runs smack into Statham just before he makes that fatal 'last step' of his life.... Their eyes meet. The connection made. Both desperate, Both about to die...thinking he's going to die anyway, he wonders, can he do one last meaningful thing before he goes? Freaking awesome! Watch this movie!

Se dovessi fare una classifica sui migliori film di Jason Statham, non saprei scegliere... Li colleziono tutti indistintamente perché sono i film ad essere costruiti apposta per lui e finora non ho ricevuto alcuna delusione... Ottima storia, anche se la partenza sembra banale, scena dopo scena ci sentiamo trasportati nell'adrenalinico mondo della mala e non ci resta che fare il "tifo" per il grande Jason Statham nei panni di Luke Wright... Da non perdere assolutamente!

je trouve ce film très interessant avec toute les facettes qu'il contient :l'ancien flic meurtri , qui à perdu le sens de sa vie , le jeu du hasard qui va lui redonner une raison de se battre pour le regard d'une fillette , pour la defendre ... et puis tout s'enchaine , le passè resurgit se mèle au present ; tout cela èmaillè de combats efficaces et très bien menès par Jason Statham , qui peut tout aussi bien jouer le dur avec le charisme que l'on lui connait , mais aussi un personnage dèsespèrè , souffrant en silence (la scène du dèbut oû il pleure de rage et de douleur est très justement et sobrement interprètèe ) bref on ne s'ennuit pas un instant et si comme moi on apprècie l'acteur : alors il faut voir ce film !! !

What more can be said its a standard Statham movie, but enjoyable, the little girl makes it a more interesting film, but then again I am a big fan of the smooth talking brit
