This wouldn't hold my 5.6lb canon t5i, rokinon 135mm f2 lens, battery grip, and guide scope. i couldn't turn the knob tight enough, i had arca swiss?

I just checked my ULANZI ball head and when I tightened down the tension knob I could not move the ball even by pushing on it very hard from several angles. I then mounted my Nikon D500 with my 70-200 f4 zoom and when tightened, the ball head did not move. Perhaps you have a defective ball head as mine works as it should and is very stable.

Can you mount any camera to this? i don't know a lot about photography. looking to use this for a sony ev-10.

You can definitely use this ball head and mount for the Sony ev-10; I use this Ulanzi quick release with several different cameras [sony and canon], including the zv-10.

What is the exact screw size? A 1/4 inch what? 1/4-20? How many threads per inch? I need this screw to thread into a blind nut so need the size thread

The thread size is 1/4-20, which means 20 threads per inch. Home Depot would have plenty of those nuts!

Not for heavy lens and camera

Load bearing capacity 20kg is a joke. I tried it on monopod with my nikon d500 with 200-500lens and it sucks. Good for camera with less weighing lens, Build quality is really good.
