Work great for alternate types of material marking.

These carpenter pencils are very tough and we'll built. They come with numerous refills of black, red, and yellow replacement leads which are easy to replace, and easy to use. Each pencil has a sharpener with it that stores in the opposite end. The design makes them easier to use than a normal pencil especially in those hard to reach places. The thickness of the lead makes it harder to break.

They seem ok. They arrived in a heavy paper bag. Multiple leads were broken inside their little plastic boxes. Still useable I guess. A small box may have protected them, IDK. Some of the 'generic' drivers have hurled the packages at my concrete porch vs walking and laying on the porch. I have them recorded. I'll know more when I go to use them. Each pencil came with 1 lead already loaded inside. Click on top multiple times for lead to move down the tube and be exposed to mark with. The sharpener is threaded into the end you click with your thumb.

I’m often marking spots and lines on black and other dark surfaces and regular pencil marks just disappear. The yellow grease marker is easy to see, and wipes away fairly easily when done or a mark needs to be moved. These are a great price for the entire set. They seem to be sturdy enough. I keep them in the side pocket of my drill bag and they get jostled on the project site a lot. I haven’t even have the marking insert break. The scribe tool is very sharp, but I still prefer my marking knives for marking lines because the scribe doesn’t slide over some grains well. But it’s great for marking holes and even starting holes so a drill bit won’t wander off the spot. I’m concerned about getting refills, but it will be a while before I need to order them.

We love these pencils. During a full flooring remodel, subfloors and all, we realized the original gray enhon pencil (my husband LOVES) doesn’t show up easily in the dark flooring we’re using. We immediately ordered these colored options. It has been so nice for each of us to have a black/gray pencil and the colors are ideal for marking tiles (red is great for wet cutting) and vinyl planks of many colors. They have durable lead and refills which is also a bonus.

These carpenters pencils work phenomenally. I haven’t stopped using them since I received them and they’ve put all of my other carpentry pencils to rest. They have the standard pencil and the red and yellow are more of the crayon type. All of which come in the thicker plastic carpenter type pencil and then the slimmer metal casual. The metal pencils are almost too nice to even use. The plastic ones have a built in pencil sharpener and the pack even comes with a metal scribe. This is not only a buy for personal use but we’ll worth it for a gift idea also.

The variety of graphites that come with the pencils are good. The sharpeners on the smaller pencils are directly on the end where you click to release the graphites so it is strange to sharpen them and then you get graphite dust on your thumbs. Also one of the smaller pencils has split in half so it is no longer usable. The metal end is threaded together but where the plastic meets the metal it is just slightly glued and inserted together. I will probably try and super glue it back together to see if I can continue using it. Definitely room for improvement on the smaller pencils.

These carpenters mechanical pencils are a must for any woodworker. The penciks are well made and work well. The set comes with 4 packets of extra leads, in colours of grey, red and yellow. The cap on the end of the pencils are a sharpener that works well and sharpens the lead to a very sharp point. The set also comes with a strong and extremely shaep carbide scriber for fine etching into timber, plastic and glass. A great product at a great price.
