Brick Fairy Tales and Greek Myths: Box Set: Classic Stories for the Whole Family Paperback – October 6, 2015

What can I say? Just wonderful. My 8 year old son loves playing with Lego and now he also is fascinated by Greek myths and fairy tales. The fairy tales and the Greek myths contain some interesting details which I had not read in previous versions.

I did expect pretty traditional - but this was a little more graphic than I think my kiddos are ready for. Beheadings with pools of blood, the huntsman carving the heart out of the boar, etc. I was also not familiar with the tale Clever Hans which ends with him tying a girl up, carving the eyes out of sheep and calves and throwing them at a girl who winds up marrying him...I will have to read up on that one more. The Greek myths I am still reading through, but seem a bit less graphic. Well done, to be sure. But I would say more for a ten-year-old (with some guidance and historical context) than a six-year-old that might be interested in it because they see Legos.

If your child loves fairy tales, greek myths or legos they will really like this box set. If they love fairly tales, greek myths AND legos, they will LOVE this box set. Was a big hit with my son!!
