These are great little heaters, bought three; two gifts and one for myself. You may use the small propane tanks, sold separately, or it has a connector inside to plug a separate hose into and connect large propane tank, so you'll have plenty of propane. Puts off plenty of heat, which is adjustable, of course the higher the heat is adjusted the more propane it will use but it does a great job. It's safe of course but make sure it has plenty of ventilation. I use during cold weather on the back porch and in my garage when I work out, leave the door and windows cracked. Nothing negative to say about this heater.

Good price and well thought out design. I have used this heater for various outdoor projects to provide some localized heat to keep you going. It is also a nice addition at deer camp to be able to have some additional heat source to warm things up quickly. I do appreciate and have used the ability to add the external regulator to the unit to enable hook up to a 20llb or larger propane tank for extended use. Lastly, i have used this unit to heat a small shed approximately 12 x 16' in sub freezing weather and it made the space very comfortable to work in.

I don’t often leave reviews, but I had to share my experience with Mr. Heater. I bought the Big Buddy heater but didn’t get around to opening the box until after the return window had closed. When I couldn’t get it to light, I reached out to their tech support—and they were amazing. Patient, knowledgeable, and truly helpful.What really impressed me, though, was the warranty exchange process. Not only did they honor the warranty outside the return window, but they were incredibly accommodating—even after I had a flood in my garage and the unit got wet. Most companies would’ve turned me away at that point, but Mr. Heater stood behind their product and went out of their way to help.Everyone I know who owns one of these heaters swears by them, and now I understand why. In a world where online customer service is often terrible, Mr. Heater is a rare gem. Great product, even better people behind it. Highly recommend.

Arrived on a timely basis, well packaged. Set up immediately. 1 lb. Propane. It was fairly easy. Once I realized The input would turn to make this an easy process. I did experience an issue with the electronic start. I had inserted the battery and all seemed well but would not function. I called customer service and was very pleased with quick response. The problem with the electronic ignition was a user error. I had installed the battery with the negative toward the spring on the cap. Come to find out it goes in the other way. Once the change was made I immediately had electronic ignition.I set this up in my shop and it is pretty cold here. Set on high and it began to heat quickly. As with many others, The built-in fan is pretty weak in distributing. I will be setting up another fan behind to direct the air flow better. The manual leaved a bit to be desired. It certainly covers all potential hazards and I'm sure is very helpful to first-time propane users. The manual should have explained about installing electronic battery. Second, there was no indication as to whether it required a c or d battery for the fan. Just looking at it. I figured it was D. That worked. The other issue is to describe plug needed for the fan if someone does not want to use the batteries.I am in the process of preparing to hook up a 20 lb bottle and only used the 1 lb to test out the efficacy of The heater. At this time, I can say I am pleased with itUpdate. One of The regulators for the 1 lb propane bottles was bad. A machining issue. I contacted Mr. Buddy heater and they indicated to return the item or go through Amazon. I chose to go through Amazon and return the item without any problem and 3 days later had the new one. The new one does not have this issue. I can only say that between Mr. Buddy heater and Amazon. I am now satisfied. The new one has no issue with either one of the regulators. I can say that it has heated up my shop very quickly to a comfortable temperature.
