Mina and the Slayers
Another fantastic instalment from Amy McCaw from the world of Mina. I adore this world and these books and have been sucked into them, the fact I have to wait till April next year for the next book is not ok! I need more!I loved the storyline of this book and did not see the twists coming at all, which normally I do.I enjoyed the character progression within this book and the growth of Mina and Jared’s relationship warmed my heart, I cannot wait to read more of them.In this book Mina discovers the world of slayers and all that that entails, with her own boyfriend being on of the creatures they hunt it takes Mina time for Mina to process what is happening all around her, but as ever she is willing to fight to protect the people she loves. I also just need to add that Amy writes her characters so well, I fell in love with Mina, Jared, Libby and Della, I mourned alongside them for the characters they had lost. And I hated Paige and St Germaine by the end of the book, I felt helpless!I love the mansion and all the old horror films they discuss that it entails, there is so much 90s nostalgia throughout these books. I really enjoyed the slasher element to this story, again a nod to all of the classics.I cannot wait to read more and I hope there are so many more of these books to come!

A follow-up with bite!
Fans of Mina and the Undead (like me!) will be after getting their hands on this one - and on the 3rd book, just announced!I really enjoyed this continuation of Mina's story. As a 90s kid, I have that nostalgia for this kind of setting, having grown up with horror movies on VHS and shows like Buffy. This sequel didn't disappoint and I'm so excited for the next one!

Full of shocking twists!
I loved Mina’s first adventure in ‘Mina and the Undead’ and thoroughly enjoyed this second romp around vampire-infested New Orleans. Being set in the 90s, there was plenty of nostalgic references for someone in their 40s, like me! It also means the characters don’t have smart phones to keep in close contact or social media to spread the word about the strange things going on in the city.Discovering the Slayers puts Mina in a difficult position with her boyfriend, considering what happened to him in the first book. It was really interesting to see how their relationship developed, having more issues to deal with than your average teenagers.‘Mina and the Slayers’ is full of shocking twists, making it hard to put down. Expect an action-packed story with a high body count.

Fantastic! One to channel your inner Buffy
5 stakes for the second in the Mina series, #minaandtheslayers by the amazing @yaundermyskin - I definitely did a John Bender arm in the air at the end!I'm literally counting the days for the third installment which is out in 3 days!My favourite element is this series is the found family. These are characters I'm invested in and I particularly loved the introduction of Will in this one.The pop culture references alone make this story worthy, I even annotated several pages to go back and relive.Love this series, Amy. Thank you for channeling my inner Buffy! Roll on #minaandthecult

MC is a let down.
The story is great loved the mystery and the revelations but the main character gets on my nerves a little she never does much besides get in the way and needs to be rescued a lot for a book called Mina and the slayers she doesn’t slay anything until near the end but the twists at the end and her final fight almost make up for the rest of the book. Though the only reason I read the whole book was because I loved the mystery and the other characters the mc I could take or leave in the story.

The perfect read for vampire lovers
Mina and the Slayers by Amy McCaw is the sequel to Mina and the Undead. Following in true sequel style - this book delivers more vampire mayhem, more 90s nostalgia and Halloween fun. I have to say, I loved booked one but Mina and the Slayers has trumped it, which I didn’t think was possible.Book two follows on a few months after book one finishes, we are reunited with Mina, Jared (the boyfriend) and her sister Libby - they are joined by a whole host of new characters, including Police Officer Cafferty (who I had a sweet spot for!!)In the build up to Halloween, people start turning up dead; is there a serial killer stalking the streets of New Orleans? To make matters worse, the city starts to see an influx of newly created vampires - Mina and her friends start receiving mysterious notes and not everyone is going to make it to Halloween night. The gang of slayers, Mina and her friends were a delight to read - a real ‘scooby gang’ feel to the characters.Amy packs a punch of nostalgia with this book. The 90s pop culture references, the ode to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Lost Boys, Scream and Twilight - Amy, you have put all of my favourite things into one book and it made my brain explode!Fans of Point Horror, Vampires, slashers, Buffy and the 90s will adore this book. Add this YA read to your TBR for spooky season (if you’ve not read Mina and the Undead, you’ll need to read that one first….!)

Amazing 90s Vampire Story Sequel
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I absolutely love this series and hope they'll be more. I have a thing for the 90s and vampires so this is right down my alley. Mina is living the dream in New Orleans in the 2nd book. She's in school and has a new BFF, a vampire boyfriend, an awesome job and Halloween is right around the corner. Things don't stay calm and normal, well her normal, for long before vampire troubles comes her way again. I read this book in three days, I couldn't put it down.
