Absolutely Essential
This book is a great introduction to Micro/Nano fluidics, and the first one I know of that is intended for the Senior undergraduate or junior graduate student. That isn't to say that more advanced graduate students couldn't benefit from the book, only that the book takes you from an undergraduate level of knowledge to that of a graduate researcher. I have been looking for a book like this for awhile that synthesized everything important for this very interdisciplinary field. I would especially recommend this book to students who want to get involved in nanofluidic research.Since I have a Mechanical Engineering background, I'm not sure if this book would be as approachable from the perspective of other fields. Biology majors especially may be a little too much 'out of their element' in some of the boundary layer theory. I suspect other fields would have similar difficulties.
