Good size and quality
This is a great spoon for making caramel because it gets into the corner of the pan without scraping the sides.

Highly Recommend
As I've discovered cooking over the last 10 years I have also discovered the utensils that are indispensable, such as a sturdy wooden stirring spoon. Wood is stout but doesn't damage any cooking surfaces, impart any unwanted taste or leach unhealthful chemicals. I had been using a flat edged salad spoon for years until the tip got gnarly and ragged. I got stars in my eyes and bought a pricey Epicurean wood spoon with a flat, tapered handle, black piping and a round edge. I hated it from the moment I first used it. The handle was uncomfortable. Within 6 months, the black piping started chipping off. Last but not least, the rounded edge made it next to impossible to scrape browned bits, a feature I soon learned I loved about my old salad spoon. After doing some research I realized that what I wanted was a "scraping spoon". So for six bucks I took the plunge on this OXO. I am very happy. Itโs comfortable in the hand, scrapes the bottom of a pan with ease, and the corner piece really does help scraping around the edges of pans. I also like that it has some depth to actually hold a fair amount of food/liquid for tasting and even serving. Iโve used it countless times in the last month and a half which is a good sign. I highly recommend this spoon.

quality material and construction, but inelegant, less usable design
The beech construction is high quality with proper use of the wood grain for a carved spoon/bowl and handle. However, the whole thing, spoon edges and handle are just too thick. The thick spoon edges make it less effective as a corner spoon (vs a general cooking spoon), and the super thick handle makes it feel unwieldy even though I've got large hands. I'm not stirring or spooning wet cement here--a handle half as thick would be fine. The other corner spoon I have, the Helen Chen bamboo one, is pretty much perfect though I've seen recent reviews saying that one's quality has declined, which is why I got this OXO one instead. The OXO is indeed terrific build quality, but the usability is a little lacking in comparison.

Amazing Kitchen Spoon
Probably the best kitchen tool I have, the straightened edge of it makes it really easy to scrape along with being quite wide. It hasn't showed any deterioration despite me not treating it particularly well, and will probably last me many years.

Great, large, wooden spoon.
My old reliable wooden spoon finally died on me after 25 years...this has been a great replacement. The finish on the spoon disappeared after it's first bath in the dishwasher, but I've had no problems with splintering or cracking despite it being in the raw, so to speak. I did simply rub some olive oil on it. It is of a substantial size, nice heft, with a good size bowl to taste test soups, sauces, and stews. The angled end also makes it a great tool for sauteing. This is a reliable brand and will become a staple in your kitchen as it is in mine.

Beautiful sturdy spoon!!
I love this sturdy beautiful spoon. Itโs very comfortable and strong for stirring and breaking up the whole canned tomatoes against the side of the pot and for scooping out the sauce. Itโs great for tasting the sauce while itโs cooking since the wood makes it cool quicker than a metal spoon, so itโs less likely to burn my mouth. The spoon developed 2 tiny splits after I left it soaking in the sink for several hours. I called OXO customer service and they are sending a new spoon. They said to let them know if it happens again. Excellent, easy to reach customer service!! They said that the splits should not have happened. I found that after the spoon completely dried, the tiny slits had closed. The spoon is very sturdy.

Huge Thick Handle!
I needed a wooden spoon to make fudge, and so I bought this thinking it would be strong and sturdy. It's definitely that, but the handle is way too big. It's for hands of Goliath or someone like that. I found stirring with it just didn't feel right. Also, after washing it, I noticed it started to crack and looked old.

Sturdy, strong and possibly even... Manly!
Bought this as a gift for my husband who is a master fudge maker at Christmas time. It didn't seem right watching this strong man struggling with a 15 minute stir of ultra thick fudge while using our previous long skinny wooden spoon- it almost snapped in half and was very awkward to use. This spoon is PERFECT and amazing. It has a large thick bowl with a thick, strong handle of properly proportionate length. The angled edge allows you to get into the edges of the pot or bowl with ease. Stirring with this gem takes a lot less effort than it would with using a spoon with a long thin handle, that's for sure! This would make a great gift for anyone who cooks or bakes, and I could see it being awesome to use with thick chilis or soups.

Sturdy, easy to clean
Beautifully crafted, appreciate the wood grains. In the two photos, itโs shown with the wood utensil it has replaced. Big difference in what I can easily mix from previous item. Yes would gift and recommend.

Solid, well made, good quality
Solid, well made, good quality, not much else to add. It is a piece Iโm sure I will be using for many years to come based on the solid single piece of wood construction.
