Pricey but worth it?
Absolutely. But like most things in tech, you should understand what it is... and what it isn't. There are plenty of professional reviews out there so look them over. All true, except as follows. This is the Global Edition which I bought to spare myself a bunch of baked-in, Chinese bloatware which is some of what you will get if you buy the less expensive CN version of the phone. And you are assured of an OEM version of Android with Play Store and related programs/settings. Of note, Chinese phones are notorious for bloatware and somewhat goofy at times UIs that lay over Android's OS. Not so here. My phone came with Oxygen 12 which is about to go to 13 as it merges with OnePlus' skin (as both phone lines are produced by the same company). There is nothing with my rather purist/minimalist preferences, that I find objectionable. In fact, some of it is downright cool and provides usefulness. Otherwise, there doesn't appear to be any difference. Now, If you are in the U.S. you are not going to get 5g, at least not yet. The phone is 5g capable but it does not (yet) handshake with the Bands that U.S. GSM Providers use. For the moment, I am running on one SIM using T-Mobile and a second SIM using Tello (which runs on the same T-Mobile network) and I get rock-solid 4g. With that said, you are likely to get perfectly acceptable data speeds (in my area 50-55 down and 4-8 up) for typical phone content and perfectly clear, good tonality on voice in both directions. If you are a gamer, you might be fine with a lightweight game but you're just not going to get out of 4g what you need. Gamers know this, of course. As to photo and video, this phone is awesome and that's without playing around with any of the Hasselblad features. Battery charging and usage is crazy great. The bottom line is that this phone is as awesome, as you you will see in various reviews. Once you understand that you will not be getting 5G, you're driving a high performance car on a road with some speed limits... still a heck of a lot of fun.UPDATE: the one I would have preferred not to make. So, a hard stop on this review of two days ago. While the phone was doing well-enough for my voice/general data use, and it takes extraordinary photos, it lack of the more complete GSM bands, is apparently the reason I am unable to leave (and periodically receive) voicemail messages. As crazy as that sounds, that is the case and no abuse of adult beverages were involved. I was not able to leave voicemail on the call recipient's phones (I tested with 4 friends using 3 providers) getting a message that "no message was recorded" on each. An absolutely freakish thing with no explanation. Now, to further assure myself that the phone was at fault, I did two things - I completely restored the phone to factory status, updated Android and immediately made call and got the same result... no ability to leave vmail. Then, I took the same SIM cards and used each in my OnePlus 9 Pro, one at a time, and had no problems leaving vmail. Now, keep in mind that OnePlus and Oppo are both produced by the same manufacturer and the Oppo I am reviewing is a "Global" Edition, which even prompts you in the set-up to set up your country of use (USA and GSM of course). And in both cases, I am on the T-mobile network. So, with the exception of a band or two (amongst dozens), a lot of the engineering and components between these two phonesare the same. Sadly, the OnePlus had no such problem leaving a voicemail. The only conclusion before I am forced to return it, is that my OnePlus 9 Pro has been updated to the new Color OS version 13, while the new Oppo remains at Color V. 12.1. Thats a bit weird as well and the Find x5 Color OS upgrade is due "soon". Could that be the fix? Unfortunately, I don't have the luxury of waiting. A vmail like that is a deal-breaker. One more test on all this and then sadly, I have to return it for refund. The moral of the story for me and others? Even when you know more than most about phones, and as good as certain Chinese brands are, and "Global" GSM from the same manufacturer is supposed to just work... well it doesn't. It's a shame. It's one hell of a device with a fatal flaw.

Nice phone but worth the money...?
I love the battery! I think this might be the best thing about this phone... Can last all day under extreme conditions. Photos are okay, but I think there are better choices. I love that the phone isn't preloaded with junk that you can't remove. With that being said... Worth $1200? I think a realistic price would be $700 to $800 max.

Nice phone
Really nice phone but wasn’t too happy about losing 120 dollars for returning it, since it didn’t work with T-Mobile.
