Helps hormonal acne!
Oh Burdock Root, how I love thee! I have hormonal/cystic acne and it is such a struggle. I started taking a bunch of supplements and drinking skin detox teas back when my acne got really bad. I don't want to keep taking tons of supplements so I've been weening off them one-by-one to see which ones I need to take, if any at all.I stopped taking burdock root in November and about a month later, my face was breaking out a lot more. Nothing else in my diet changed and everything in my life was regular, normal, and stress-free. So I gave it two months in case that time was all I needed to adjust without it. Finally, I bought it again and after a few weeks my face was clear again! I don't mind taking it at all since it is natural and seems to really help me. I take it during the weekdays and not on the weekends. I take just one in the morning after or before breakfast.I am going to try to stop taking other supplements also. So far, I've stopped taking vitamin A and zinc and I've been fine! Just a few more to test.If you have hormonal acne and are in your 30's like me, I feel your pain! I would try burdock root. It really helps me! Not every natural supplement will help so it is always trial and error. I heard about this from "The Love Vitamin" blog. It has good info. Good luck!

Incredible for autoimmune problems
I don't write a lot of reviews, but this has been such a life-changing supplement that I had to write one. I have ankylosing spondylitis, which multiple docs have said is the "worst and most debilitating of the rheumatic diseases, which are all terrible," and ulcerative colitis. After 10 months without a working medication for my AS and UC for various reasons, I stumbled across burdock root, which some suggested was an anti-inflammatory. I can't take NSAIDs due to my UC, so I was concerned at first, but on the second day of taking this, I was nearly back to my old self from years ago when I was taking Remicade, which treats multiple auto-immune conditions. After doing some research to find out how burdock root works, I found some studies suggesting it could be a natural TNF blocker (like Remicade) and might even block other things implicated in autoimmune diseases (possibly IL-6 and JAK?). Of course, you just never know about these studies (and some were on animals), but here's what I know. It put my UC back in remission, and I'm doing as well as I did years ago with my AS when they first put me on Remicade. My rheumy was amazed at the change in me and is going to do her own research on burdock root. Note: I'm taking 12 a day, which twice what they say to take, but I was so desperate after months of excruciating pain with no relief and starting to think there was only one way out of my misery. Anyway, after playing with the dosage, I've determined that 12/ day is the sweet spot for me. I forgot to take the last two capsules yesterday, and I'm paying for it today. It does give me seasonal allergies, so I just take a zyrtec at night. Seems a small price to pay for such dramatic relief. Also I add an insoluble fiber supplement to work with the inulin (soluble fiber) in the burdock root so it doesn't make me constipated since I'm very sensitive to it.

Finally!! My skin looks great!
I've had terrible acne on my chin for most of my adult life, and the only things that helped were birth control pills and anti-biotics. After switching to a non-pill contraceptive, my skin began breaking out BAD and dermatologists would only put me on antibiotics (which stopped working as soon as they tried to wean me off). So, fed up with taking antibiotics and paying 30 dollar co-pays, I decided to take matters into my own hands and research otc supplements.I've tried TONS of supplements and some things have helped, but nothing has made as much of a difference as this. I first tried this because it was an ingredient in the yogi skin detox tea that had given me good results a while ago, but it's a pain in the butt to make so much tea every day. I started taking this a week ago, 2 caps 3 times a day (sometimes 2 if I was busy) and my skin has made a 180 degree turn around. I have ZERO active breakouts on my face, and my back and chest are starting to clear up as well!I am using this with other supplements (and I use a salicylic acid peel 1-2 times a week), but nothing has made such a huge difference, so hopefully I can stop taking the others.I think my acne is mostly inflammatory, as I had great temporary success when I was on doxycycline, so if you have ever taken doxy and are looking for an alternative, I would highly recommend this! I just wish I had tried this earlier, I've had such a crappy and painful skin year, and it feels great to finally see my face healing and looking clear.
