Engaging
I am reading this to my fifth grade class and they are loving it! They are following character development and making great predictions. It also teaches about real world financial situations. We finished the book. All of the students calculated the “double a penny for 30 days” and some the 10% daily raise Reggie received. The students thoroughly enjoyed this book and were engaged throughout.

Loved this Book! It really Makes you Think
This book is so fun me and my daughter read this book and we had so much fun reading it. We took time to really acknowledge the rules and what they bought! I would recommend this book for 9-12 year old kids/tweens!! This is such a great read!!

Fun and engaging!
Well, give me a penny doubled, this book was a great read! The alternating point of view of the main characters made MILLIONAIRES FOR THE MONTH super engaging. I felt like I was in the challenge to spend $5.3 million with them. It also left room for me to wonder how I would spend all the money without accumulating assets or telling anyone. A tough task indeed. The author has a keen sense for introducing math (and, in this case, finance) concepts into her books without it feeling like a lesson, which makes me a big fan! (Extra bonus points for all the Broadway star references!)I like to read some of the same books as my kids so we can talk about them (and they get a kick out of seeing me read something they recommend). Some of their books are less than interesting to anyone over the age of 15, but I highly recommend this book for kids and adults alike. It will lead to some interesting conversations and chance to see how their brain works!

This story was captivating to the very end!
My thanks to Netgalley and Random House for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. This is the story of an unlikely friendship forged by a twenty-dollar bill. Benji is fairly wealthy, he’s the tallest kid in his class, and quite outspoke. Felix, on the other hand, is small, quiet, and his single-mom obviously struggles, financially. Happenstance places both boys in the right place at the right time to be thrown into a game of spending millions in free cash. The catch is, they have to spend over $5,000,000.00 in 30 days or they lose it all. Oh, and did I mention there are a number of rules they must follow. For example, no real estate, no jewelry, no art, and whatever they buy must be used by the boys (so no gifts for others). Easy peasy, right? WRONG! Because they cannot tell a soul about the challenge. Just imagine being the parents of THESE boys as they burn through millions in mere WEEKS!While I admit I wasn’t enamored by the cover art, the story was captivating right up to the end. I believe the book will make an excellent middle grade read aloud – kids will be talking in class, in hallways, at lunch, and after school as they come up with ways THEY would have made the challenge work, despite the strict rules. But there’s more to this story than money and math. The family relationships and management of an unusual friendship are both insightful and touching. McAnulty writes so well for this audience! And sure to check out the math information and charts available in the back matter.

10 yr old boy APPROVED
I started reading this book to my son last night. I usually read a couple of chapters a night so after chapter 2, we put it down and he was supposed to go to sleep. But I came back a little while later and he had continued to read on his own. Night 2…same thing. He got into it right away. It speaks to this younger generation that is all about money growing on trees and wanting everything they see! But there are some lessons thrown in there too. I think we’ll be done with this one by the end of the week!

Mathematical AND fun to read!
This book is so clever. We've all heard that if we doubled a penny everyday for a month, we'd have a lot of money. Well, Stacy McAnulty takes that idea and turns it into a funny and eye-opening novel about two boys thrown together in a whirlwind month of frivolous spending--all thanks to a billionaire trying to teach them a valuable lesson.

Great Book!
After my son told me there were no good books to read, he found this book on Amazon. He loved it! I ended up reading it as well. It was cool to see the math in it too. He loved the idea of the penny doubling every day for a month. Such a cool concept. Thanks Stacy McAnulty for proving to him that there are plenty of great books out there!
