LavazzaClassico Whole Bean Coffee Blend Medium Roast 12oz, Classico, Full-bodied medium roast with rich flavor and notes of dried fruit

I've given up on buying coffee from Amazon I think. I think I gave this 2 starts because I had the absolutely horrible Seattles "Best" brand. I could not finish my second cup. I've had lavazza coffee at restaurants and there is even a Lavazza Cafe in downtown Chicago that I used to frequent and loved it. Having said that this coffee sucks. Tastes like crap and is not fresh at all. I was able to finish the bag at leas unlike the Seattle's. I had to mask it with milk and sugar though which I usually don't do when drinking coffee. Guess I have to bite the bullet and spend more locally. This lavazza bag must have been roasted AGES ago

I am sure Lavazza Classico whole bean is a great coffee, but the package I got yesterday on 1/8/2022 has a best by date of 07/2019 if I am reading the numbers right on the bottom of the package. This makes me wonder if I am a pawn to dump expired product on. When I opened the package, I noticed that the rich coffee smell was not that strong. But after grinding this morning, it did make a nice smooth cup of coffee in a French press.Granted this is only a $10.00 purchase, but I bought some fresh 8 o'clock coffee (rated high in Amazon sales) for just about half this price at the grocery store today and the smell through the valve on the bag was excellent. Tomorrow will be the test of whether the best by date means anything, but I imagine it will.I am disappointed that the bag of coffee I received was package 2 1/2 years ago. After working a few years for a major international grocery, I realize the effort to maintain product freshness, but this is rather on the extreme side. Not sure buying from a warehouse is the thing to do for coffee.UPDATE: that was it after opening. Absolutely no flavor the second day. Dumped a full French press of coffee down the drain and the bag of coffee is no more. If I come across a bag of Lavazza in my travels where I can see the best by date is good, I will try again.

There’s something about this coffee... it’s so darn smooth and richly nutty and full bodied and I love it! Ppl ask me about it when I serve it at my house and are surprised it’s a widely distributed brand. I’ve been a coffee drinker for nearly 30 years. This is just the best! The ground Lavazza Classico is also good.

Have been purchasing this item for a year or so and enjoy it. Everyone has their own tastes however. I believe it is a smooth well balanced coffee and I happen to drink it black. Will continue to purchase. Thanks for the read.

I wasn't expecting much from this coffee. But I was pleasantly surprised by the rich taste. Not bitter at all. A great buy.
