Worth the price but order lots of extras!
These will work for us. I think that in the dark or on a cloudy day they would be better than having nothing, but I definitely wouldn’t trust it with my life in a survival situation!I ordered 100 expecting a pretty high failure rate: -2 were completely broken -14 are off 45° give or take -4 were off initially but seem OK an hour later, so we will see in a couple of days how they perform -About 25-30% have small bubbles but are still spinning freely -80 are more or less accurate, which was more than I was expecting from the other reviews! The first package I opened only had one that was unusable. Other packages were closer to 40% bad, so definitely order more than you need!So far the cords seem strong enough for our needs. We will be using these to navigate indoors with elementary age students, so they are accurate enough for that. Should be fun!

All seems to show north.
Obviously these are small and would not be functional as a life saving tool. However as a zipper pull and fun way to test your sense of direction on a walk I think they are fine. It is just what I was looking for to use as an object lesson.

Great for basic directions!
Got these for a camping trip for my girl scout troop. I checked them all ahead of time, laying it flat in my palm and jiggling to make sure the face was "floating", and all of them pointed north. Some were off slightly, but still good enough for a quick, basic hike and learning your directions. They went easily on lanyards and didn't have any break on us, so we were very pleased.

Some of the items are Inoperable
Orders 2 sets. Each set consists of 20 units. Set 1 had 1 unit with no fluid and 1 unit Magnetic North not holding. Set two had 1 unit magnetic North not working and 1 unit that bubble insert was not affixed or had come apart. They are ok for the money but 2 of 20 is not a good quality standard. Kinda smaller than I anticipated but will do for in expensive gift that is more about the message not the item itself.

I was disappointed in the super small size.
Pretty small compass, but good for clothing zippers for young hikers or skiiers. I would not depend on it for much more than pointing you in a general direction. It's not much value except that you get a ton of them in one order. Maybe good for a school field trip or Disneyland or a lanyard. However, I wouldn't waste your time or money on these unless you have a specific use for it.

Nice
Got these for a camping party theme as the party favor. They all worked and looked great.

They work
Surprisingly, these bubble compasses work in all types of weather from freezing cold to blistering hot. Don't know about durability yet because I've only had them a couple of months. They are a key piece of gear to have attached to your clothing, especially if you get lost. They give direction reliably.

Small but Good
These are much smaller than I thought, but they are functional and worked for what we needed.

40-50% defect rate, others work great
These compasses put me in a real predicament for this review. On one hand, the defect rate of these compasses is just brutal. In the first set of these that I got, out of 20 compasses, 4 were pinched at the mounting point and 1 had a bubble that prevented, which prevented all 5 from spinning freely. Further 3 were off by about 30 degrees. However, the other 12 worked great: they pointed north quickly, didn't bind even if the angle was slightly off and matched my accurate "full size" Silva compass almost perfectly. And the price is quite good. That led me to order a second set of 20 to see if they were better but unfortunately they were worse. 4 were pinched at the mounting point and 1 had an air bubble again, 2 were magnetized in reverse (north was pointing south and vice versa), 1 had severe clouding of the clear part so you couldn't properly read the compass and 2 were magnetized about 30 degrees off. Thats 10 defective, if you're keeping score. That said, the other 10 worked great again. So if you're willing to go through the effort of testing each compass individually and returning non-functional ones, you can make a full set out of two. Or you can just take the hit and just toss the defective ones, if you don't need all 20. The remaining ones will work great.By the way, these compasses are quite small - the dial is only about 1cm in diameter. I've included a picture with it next to a quarter to give you an idea of size. So I definitely wouldn't use this for orienteering or precision navigation. However, no one usually plans to get lost and attaching a little compass like this to your or kids clothing if you're going for a hike or a paddle may really save you one day. It really doesn't take much to get lost in a forest and electronics may no longer work if you go for an unexpected dip in a lake.
