Gets the job done better than most!
So I didn’t use this for a shower rod, but as a window curtain rod. I work overnight and our master bedroom has sliding glass doors. We’re renting this house so we’re weary of putting screws and nails in the walls so we got this. With the price of the rod, I wasn’t expecting much at first. But when I was able to use the rod holders and got it up, you can’t even tell it’s meant for shower curtains. Like I said I work overnight so we got blackout curtains and they’re heavy, but the rod won’t budge. Definitely should be a major consideration if buying curtain rods but don’t want the hassle of having to screw anything in!

Terrible
You can’t tighten this to stay in place. It’s not spring loaded

Will scuff walls, no real tension, realistically needs mounts
This isn’t really a true ‘tension rod’ there’s no spring inside to apply tension. Instead, the ‘tension’ is made by setting it to the width you want, locking the length, then jamming it into place. The rubber pads mostly protect the walls from scuffs but this thing has to be really set to slightly beyond the width of the space to stay up. So expect to be really jamming it into place if you plan to try and use it as a tension rod. I have mini like 1.5 ft curtains on mine and it fell after a week. I really wedged it in the 2nd time and it seems fine now. However The walls it’s pushing on I don’t mind if they get scuffed. I would NOT be jamming this thing in place if the walls mattered to me.Realistically it needs the included mounts. Which defeats the whole purpose of a tension rod - not having to put sticky drywall peeling supports or screws into your walls.

Great but could use instructions
Poor instructions the only thing wrong. The end pieces telescope which isn't mentioned or obvious but is necessary to fit most lengths. NOT spring loaded which is clearly stated, tension is provided by the micro adjustment of turning the end in the direction marked. Used the tape to prevent telescopes section from sliding back in, though intended use isn't clear.

FALSE ADVERTISING
Not a tension Rod! FALSE ADVERTISING. AMAZON REMOVE THIS LISTING. It is simply an adjustable rod with NO tension springs. I needed this in a hurry to hang some curtains and it absolutely would not stay put. I am in a rental and can’t be drilling holes all over the place which is why I was specifically looking for a tension rod (which this listing claims) but that is an absolute joke and now I have to start the search all over. Extremely annoyed!!!!!
