Replacement contactor for my outdoor AC condenser!
My New AC unit quit cooling, so I started looking at the power connections & found a burned power connection to my newly installed outdoor condenser. The AC installer missed tightening the L1 terminal. This contactor is inexpensive, easy to install, fit like it was built for it.

During current heat wave at the first use of my 6 year old heat pump this season thermostat went blank and outside unit stopped a few seconds after initiating. I would have called the HVAC company to fix it but figured they would be backed up with work orders due to the heat wave so I took to the internet. Initially somewhat mislead by statements that contactors (which are just a simple relay) rarely fail but found a tech training video that indicated that is no longer the case and failure on newer units is frequent due to shorted 24v electromagnet coils. Long story short is that my contactor 24v coil was shorted which caused the fuse in the air handler to blow.. 40 cent fuse and this $20 contactor fixed the problem. As an aside several internet posts indicated that HVAC techs have quoted homeowners up to $500+ for this diagnosis/service. Having no training I was able to diagnose and do the repair for $20. If it happens again it would take less than 30 minutes to save at least a couple hundred and perhaps several hundred vs calling a tech. By the way I found the two capacitors were significantly under spec so replaced those with OEM as well for less than $50, maybe saving hundreds more vs calling a tech. Knocked down a star as this replacement felt less substantial and more cheaply built than the "Homer" branded contactor in my unit. Time will tell but I'll probably order a replacement to have on hand.
