Long book, lots of angst
And lots of back story, it could have been just as good 300 pages less. I guess it's on to book two...

My review
Here’s all my honest thoughts and feelings about the book it self.First and foremost, Caroline and Susanne know how to write a damn good story. They really take you into a world that makes you want to live it. What I personally thought was original and unique was the storyline. I like the these authors will write a genre but it always so different then what’s out there. They definitely know how to put their own spin on things.I did like that they wrote a novella to give you a back story of what happen to Rogue and her boys 10 years ago. It was nice reading a series that didn’t keep doing flashbacks. I also liked that their age was older then a typical “high school” theme. So Rogue was a fiery, sassy, takes no crap kind of FMC. I really enjoyed her and loved that she had a furry sidekick. The humor was perfect in the book.I like the character development when it came to JJ, Chase and Maverick. I felt that you saw a lot of change in them. But Maverick and JJ are my favorite 😍Now here’s what I just didn’t like about the book, particularly one main character. I don’t know why but Fox just got in my nervous. He was so pigheaded and wouldn’t listen and in my opinion way to possessive (and I LOVE THE POSSESSIVE MALE). His character was really annoying for me and hope he gets better.Beside my dislike for Fox, I throughly enjoyed reading this book. I loved the cliffhanger and can’t wait to see what’s next.

way too good
This story is addicting! I love Rogue and how strong and sassy she is despite everything she’s had to survive. And the guys! Despite them being a-holes a lot of the time, I can see how well they all work with her already. I can’t wait to see where this action packed, dramatic romance goes next!

All time favorite series
I love this series so much! It is one of my all time favorites! The hype is real. The angst, the drama, the romance! The twisted sisters do character and world building better than anyone!

Didn’t Finish the Series
I love the two authors. I’ve read and enjoyed a lot of their books in the past. I started this book with high hopes. Unfortunately, I steadily became bored and eventually became so bothered by the last spicy scene I read that took place at Afterlife after, not once, but twice, some of them died and yet they (supposedly scary gangsters at that) still found that group spicy ness was a good idea?! AGAIN?! I stopped there and then. It was the last book and realized that I kept reading in hopes it would get better but it never did. That Rogue would rise up and stop whining. That she would become this rad, powerful woman like Carmen. But no. Every “dead girl walking” comment felt like nails on a chalkboard. A lot of it was repetitive. Spice thrown in for the sake of spice. The other parts that we’re confusing and distracting was the spelling and slang used. The story takes place in America, but the slang used, the spelling of certain words, and describing certain clothing (dungarees) were not American. The series was disappointing even though I loved snippets of a previous series intersecting (squid emoji). It was a bummer for me.

What a fun ride
I'm not normally a fan of reverse harems/why choose stories but this one was refreshing . It didn't have the every guy was instantly in love fighting for the girl ect ect. We get some much needed enemies to lovers feel here which is nice.Firstly Rogue returns home and sets on getting revenge on the boys that broke her heart and their promise . Leaving her abandoned when she needed them the most. So let's get to the boysJj ... he is easy to like . Friendly and soft and patient with Rogue . As much as I like Jj he is the typical male in RH books. So there's that .Fox... the over protective insanely jealous and over the top control freak. I wanted to shout at him so many times as he was even starting to get under my skin. (Win for me in a story ).Chase.. oh Chase you are so damaged that you are just down right mean to our girl Rogue . So I appreciate him not just instant swooning over her and could feel his anger , his hurt , and yet fear for his brothers of her return .Maverick.. definitely a tough guy and intriguing however he didn't appear a whole lost in this book so I'm not sure what to think of him. Rogue is setting on revenge on her boys that use to vow to love and protect her 10 years ago before they betrayed her. She is broken buy determined to never get hurt again . Deep down of course she loves them and misses them but 10 years people change and you know that betrayal so there's that .Maverick we know has his own anger toward the boys his friends from what happened 10 years ago too so he is as broken as Rogue only more scary and more out for blood . He wants his revenge on them and destroy them specially his brother Fox and he will use whatever he can to destroy him and which makes Rogue the target .I very much enjoyed this book and can't wait to dive i to the next one !

It started way too good to be true
I was loving this book, so much, but then it got to a point where Rogue became seriously annoying and Fox… I can’t, I just can’t with his obsession and possessiveness. Also, if u like slow-burn this is the perfect book, way too slow for me and like WHERE IS THE SPICE? WHERE IS THE WHY CHOOSE ROMANCE? They just hate each other way too much and they just talk about her choosing, like… what?I don’t think this is the way to build a why choose romance and it make me hate them all. I expected a little more maturity or something, they talk a lot about having grown up and they didn't

Damn! That was awesome.
I love the 5 main characters. Enemies-to-lovers trope is very well written. All the angst, the sexiness and the darkness makes this book too interesting to keep continuing the series. I loved reading this book.

My new favorite series
I cannot emphasize how good this is! If you like dark romance, a kick ass female and some hot guys...this is everything. Rogue is simply amazing. JJ is fun and sweet. Fox is so annoying but maybe redeemable. Chase is a pathetic bitch boy. Maverick...psycho and can't wait to learn more about him.

Holy Guacamoli 🔥
I‘m hooked!I‘m so sooo hooked. The story about Rouge, the Halerquin Boys and Maverick, I am dying to know how this will end.I love it that Rouge is a badass woman and that she's not the one to give in, it's Fox and JJ trying to show her how important she is to them.Chase, oh Chase.I love the little moments between the two of them when he opens up to Rouge.I know he will come around.Least of all I expected Maverick's behavior. Although it currently makes perfect sense.I'm so excited to see how the relationship between the two will develop. As the saying goes, it usually only gets worse before it gets better. And I believe that Rouge is going to have a hard time with Rick but she's the only one who'll get to him and has a chance to let his walls down.Even though I love Rouges personality and I absolutely understand why she is the way she is, I have to say that I found her behavior a little childish and inappropriate in some places and therefore sometimes found it a little annoying while reading.Nevertheless, absolute reading recommendation and can hardly wait for the next part.
