I'm using these for edge lighting on small acrylic pieces. They are the perfect size and brightness for that. My only complaint is that the instructions on the packaging (which you can also see in the product description) aren't completely clear for how to change modes. Once you figure those out it works great. Here is a written translation of the "How Set It" instructions:Color setting: A quick press and release moves to the next color shown in the loop.- The change isn’t instant. It fades out then fades in to the next color.- The LEDs will stay fixed on that color except for the red color that comes just after white. Stopping on that color will continuously cycle through all of the colors, fading in and out of each one.Memory: Holding the button longer than 10 seconds will store the current settings in memory so that those settings will be the default after losing power.Brightness: Holding the button slightly more than 2 seconds will decrease or increase the brightness.- This only works when in the “fixed” (not pulsing) mode.- Ignore the “<2s” note in the instructions. Hold the button for about 2 seconds. The brightness will start pulsing. Release the button when it’s at the desired brightness.Dynamic vs Fixed mode: There are two modes, fixed and dynamic. Double click the button to toggle between the modes.- Fixed means the light will stay at the same brightness all the time.- Dynamic means the light will continuously fade up and down in brightness.- You can’t toggle between fixed and dynamic modes when the colors are set to cycle.There's a photocell near the button. This is used to automatically turn off the LEDs off when it's bright out. As far as I can tell there's no setting to disable this, but you can always put electrical tape over the photocell.

Unlike others that have a fixed color and brightness this has a button to change colors and brightness and cycling through the colors and a light sensor that turns in off but you can cover this sensor if you want.

Using an Emergency and Transport vehicle I needed something to luminate the control systems at night which was difficult to see. Not anymore! Problem solved with this great little product

There have been some crazy reviews and questions about the light shining up or down. It doesn't matter, you can plug these in either way around. YOU chose to have the light facing up or down!!!!!!!!!!!! They are a little difficult to plug in but that's the price of having them bidirectional.They go from very bright to very dim. Wonderful. Whoever said they could not turn them down could not have been operating them properly. The instructions are complex as they can do so many things.

These just work great as an ambient light in my truck. They are brighter than the other USB mini lights, they point down rather than in your eyes when plugged into the USB port, the brightness and color selection options are great, and they remember the last setting every time. Having the photo sensor is a plus so they stay off during the day. Recommended.

I use two of these in the dash area of my Kia soul to light up the pocket near the trans mission shifter. It’s nice that I can change it to a red color to match the interior lights. The only difficult thing is the tiny buttons used to change the light and mode. Once it is set, however, it stays set.

I wasn't looking for direct light and was happy the light pointed down and provided all the ambient light I needed in my car. Easy to adjust the brightness and change the color. Excellent item for that just right glow of light where you need it.

I love how it has settings and turns off during the day perfect colors except it doesn’t have a “white” color it’s more blue

works and easy to cyclce colors. Not very bright though. just gives a subtle glow.The direction of the light is directed by your usb socket. I plugged mine into a USB cigarette lighter adaptor, so could then rotate as required.
