Powermate PX P018-0084SP 100% Full Synthetic Air Compressor Oil,

I bought this bulletproof Speedaire compressor new when I was in my late teens in the mid-1970's. I change the compressor oil in my 45+ year old Speedaire compressor every 6-12 months depending on use. I've used Powermate synthetic compressor oil for a long time. Even after heavy use, this Powermate oil never looks dirty - it's always clear which is great because dirty oil means bad things are happening and creating dirt. I may be changing the oil too frequently but it's cheap insurance. My compressor holds just under a quart of oil and it's lasted 45+ years due to regular oil changes.I've had to change the pressure switch, install a new petcock for draining the tank, swap out the fan belt. change to larger wheels to allow the condensation to flow to the petcock and add rubber feet to metal leg opposite the wheels on the bottom so the machine doesn't go for a stroll around my shop and quiets it down.This little American made gem with an American made Dayton electric motor just keeps on chugging along. The lessons learned are to buy the best quality you can afford up front, be diligent about service and care and use the right oil for your compressor and it will run well for decades. This Powermate synthetic compressor oil has been a key for longevity for my shop compressor. Hope this helps!PS - Amazon wanted me to rate a feature they called "mileage". Compressor runs quieter.I almost always remember to turn off the air compressor when leaving the shop. Last fall I found the compress running from a burst line to the hose reel. Running for days? Week? Hours? It was hot! Thought I just toasted the compressor. Let cool and changed the oil the next day. 1 quart will do two oil changes and this was the second with this oil. Old oil didn’t look bad or burnt. Compressor works as good as new is testament how good the oil is. Actually runs quieter than new in a small shop. Just ordered another quart to have on hand just in case.

I previously ran semi synthetic in my Powermate compressor. In my unheated garage the compressor was difficult to start below 40 degrees. Would trip 20A breaker if I didn't shut the switch off quick enough. This oil has solved this problem completely.

Yes, it does make the compressor quieter.. I just dont wanna spend a lot of monies on a replacement.Synthetic is the best price is not bad.. Easy to use and it has no detergents so i can use it as a lube oil.. Motor oil is a bad lube it has detergents..this does not.. win win..

When I bought my new air compressor it came with everything, filters, oil, plug, etc, etc. As time went on I noticed no change in the performance of my compressor; mind you I only use this for a few hours a month. When I finally got around to draining the synthetic oil from the compressor, I was shocked with the substantial change in color from when it was new. I wasn't sure what brand r type of oil to by, so I came to Amazon, I found this oil to be relatively inexpensive with the same characteristics that the OEM oil had. Changing the oil was a breeze, I haven't noticed any change in performance, but I rest comfortably knowing that the oil has been changed, the compressor is kept inside my garage, it is exposed to high temperatures in the Summer here in Phoenix, Arizona.

Since I just started using this product for the first time, it's hard to actually give this air compressor oil a real-time honest review at this juncture. Nonetheless, I wanted to give it the benefit of any doubts about it. Which are actually none at this time.Over the past 10 years or so, I have been using Ingersoll-Rand All Season Select compressor oil, which is quite expensive for the amount you get in a bottle of this stuff, but Ingersoll-Rand says they will extend the warranty on the compressor an additional two years if used exclusively, hence, that's what I did. I also use Royal Purple ISO 100 full synthetic oil in my air compressors, (I have three) and I have never had any problems with either of these compressor oils, including the standard non-synthetic 30W Wolfs Head oil. But I keep my compressors very well maintained to hopefully help avoid any problems, be it due to the oil, or much of anything else. Regular maintenance is "paramount" to everything in my opinion. (i.e. try to avoid problems BEFORE you have one)Anyway, I found this Powermax full synthetic compressor oil on Amazon recently, so I thought I would give it a try. The price was definitely right when compared to the price of the other aforementioned products, (approximately half the cost.) In any event, so far so good, and I haven't had any issues with using this oil so far.In any case, after I have used this Powermax oil for a while, I might come back here and do another updated review if I discover any problems with it. Hopefully that will never be the case. The bottle doesn't have any information on it regarding the ISO rating, so I am assuming it's either an ISO 68 or ISO 100? (20W or 30W)NONE of my air compressors have ever had any "start up" problems with tripping the breaker, or lagging during start up, regardless of what the ambient temp was, (be it frigid cold or blistering hot) Hopefully such will also be the case with the Powemax full synthetic. I pretty much use only full synthetic oils is just about everything I have, from automobiles to trucks, heavy equipment, and generators, both diesel and gas. I believe in the extra protection these kind of oils provide, and there truly is a difference in quality in them.
