Good quality oil filter
The BOSCH filter is a mid to high level filter.. It has M20x1.5 top with a nitrile gasket. 20 micron filter media with 14-18 psi bypass made by a stamped steel spring on the bottom of the filter element.. the element can hold up to 14 grams of dirt/shavings/etc.In other reviews I noticed a trend of saying "this filter is heavier than other filters and must be better" yes, it's a heavy filter.. but, the extra weight is because the top part with the threading and oil ports is about twice as thick as the compared napa gold.. this will not have any effect unless your oil pressure is 100 psi(typical is 40) and you are worried about your filter blowing off.. the extra thick head may be to make it feel better than other filters.. Just my thought ;-)Pros:large filter inside canisterSilicone anti drain back check valveMetal lined and metal capped filter elementCons:Cellulose paper on filter element (better to have synthetic)Stamped steel bypass (better to have actual spring like the napa gold in the picture)20 micron filter paper (better to have 15 micron)My take: a good filter. I like the large size of the element. In comparing to the napa gold in the picture, I will take the larger filter element over the better built and smaller element of the napa gold*note: the napa gold was used for purposes of a engine flush and the BOSCH was used on a 5,000 mile mobile 1 oil change. This is why the napa filter looks cleanerAnd the Cat😞... I was going to retake the picture after she wandered off, but I forgot

Quality oil filter
I am an avid supporter of OEM Honda products but in the case of oil filters I will not install OEM Honeywell (fram) oil filters on any of my vehicles. Prior to 2017 every Honda vehicle manufactured came with Toyo Roki (filtech) oil filters made in Japan. After 2016 Honda decided to use Honeywell filters rather than filtech. In my case I wanted to use an oil filter as close to the original that my vehicle came with from the factory. I have been using Bosch oil filters for the past two years and have noticed that my vehicles sounds alot more quiet when first started (possibly due to the silicone anti drain valve). I aways hand tighten the oil filter and have no problem removing the filter during the next oil change.

Poor Quality
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Fits very well. Correct thread pitch and canister diameter. We use these to satisfy service requirements for all vehicles in our fleet. Comes complete with anti-drainback-valve, bypass valve, baseplate, gasket, and spring. This is the choice for fleet service, oil changes with a coupon, and anyone wanting to reduce parts cost. You can buy a much better filter if you spend 10 times as much.Note that this is not OEM grade. Rubber anti-drainback-valve is not as strong as silicone. Thin canister has lower burst strength. Thin paper filtration element is less efficient. This is not a filter that you want when operating under load or in racing conditions. Do not use this filter for extended oil change intervals.Perfect if your car is not driven often, lightly driven, and you are following the original equipment manufacturer's specified oil change interval.

works, inexpensive, meets the specs
What can I say? I read several reviews on-line about oil filters. The Bosch PREMIUM gets good reviews. It's priced right. It's slightly larger than the OEM on the Honda Fit - a good thing. It fit perfectly. It wont break the bank. I ordered 2 for the next scheduled 10,000 mile oil changes. No kidding. The wife's 2012 Honda Fit just got 10,000 miles on the original oil before the driver's "oil minder" said it was due.I'm running this filter with Mobil One Advanced Synthetic of the manual recommended grade of 0W-20.FWIW, for over 4 decades I have heard so many arguments about what oil and what filter to use and people get really heated about it. Let me tell you that age old piece of advice that still holds true today. When it comes to engine life, it is more about changing the oil & filter when required and not so much about what oil or filter you use. Not that there are not valid arguments that if you use a certain oil or filter you can expect longer engine life. I'm sure that's true. But no, much simpler than that. When trying to figure for yourself what oil and filter to use, ask yourself when was the last time you wore out an engine. Most folks replace cars every 4 years. I've personally owned one I bought new for over 20 years (130K miles) and another for over 15 (135K miles) and another for 250K miles (don't remember the years). I changed the oil & filter religiously on all at 5000 mile intervals. I used anything from premium filters to Walmart Tech filters and oil to premium synthetic oil & filters. None of them EVER had an engine problem. The cars around those engines fall apart eventually. That's my point. So many people think that they have to use this or that so that they can get the most life from a car that they themselves will be replacing in about 4 years anyhow. They don't even give themselves a chance to wear it out.So.... Change the oil & filter regularly and with what is recommended by the manufacturer. "Meet the specs" and worry not. Just my 2 cents.

Best filter for Honda Civic / CRV
This filter has more surface area than competitors. Better than Mobile 1 and Fram. Wish it had the black rubber grip like Fram though. A rubber grip would help if your filter is stuck...I had to punch through a Mobile 1 oil filter with a drill and a screwdriver to remove it from a 2003 Honda CR-V. 2nd Gen Honda CRVs have a badly designed oil filter placement that causes oil to drip on engine parts when the oil filter is removed. This oil filter won't solve that problem but there are Honda tools you can buy to catch the oil...or catch the oil with tin foil.I bought the Bosch filter again and installed it to replace the Mobil 1 filter that had a swelled gasket. I no longer use Mobil 1 products...overpriced in my opinion.

Only filters I use
Great quality filters at a very reasonably price. Much better protection than cheap brands like Fram, but without the Mobil 1 price tag. I've been using Bosch filters for every single oil change for a long time now, and the old oil always looks great when it's time to change it. Dirt and grit are nowhere to be seen!EDIT: To the people giving 1 star reviews because the filter didn't fit; first of all, that's not a good reason to rate a product 1 star. That's an issue with Amazon's part selector system, not the part. 2nd of all, you should always confirm with the manufacturer's website that the part number is correct. You can go to Bosch's site and find out in 2 seconds which filter is correct. I would trust that over Amazon's recommendation.

Item doesn't fit my car despite what the Amazon order shows
This product does NOT fit a 2016 Mercedes E400. I learned this the hard way by having the mechanic put the old oil filter back in my car. Now I have to replace the new oil, get the proper filter, and pay the mechanic shop again to do the job correctly. Amazon will only credit me for the oil filter, not the other $100 I am out because of their error!. I am not pleased.
