Q: Are the side guard rails easy to insert? (Another I have was not.)

The shelves are fairly easy to install. Just make sure there are holes in all the shelves. Once installed I am still happy with it, got my microwave, air fryer & instapot on it. It is sturdy.

Q: Are the heights of each individual shelf available? I want to see if a Kitchenaid will fit on the shelves.

The shortest clearance between the shelves on this particular unit was 13 and 6/18th of an inch. That measurement was taken from the top of one shelf to the bottom of the shelf above it.
