This book is so beautiful and I can't wait to read it

Well written very sad but a lovely read

Tom Parker was without a doubt a devastating loss to this world. His story is heartbreaking but inspirational and uplifting at the same time.I was a fan of The Wanted right from the very start and I was lucky enough to see them perform live in 2012. It remains one of the best concerts that I have ever been to. Their energy was second to none and I am so happy that I was able to experience that. Tom was always my favourite member of the band, and we share a birthday, so I always felt like I connected to him the most. Hearing the news that he had been diagnosed with glioblastoma was absolutely shocking. You just don’t think that people like Tom would ever experience something like that.I followed his story, watched his Inside My Head documentary, watched his Stand Up To Cancer gig, and I was in complete awe of the positivity and hope that he, and Kelsey, continued to display at what was undoubtedly the worst period of their lives. I knew from the documentary that only 1% of cancer research funding is directed towards brain tumours and I just find that incredibly baffling. It needs to change.Although it is obviously very bittersweet, I did enjoy reading Tom’s story. There was a lot that I didn’t know about his life growing up and his early The Wanted days. I hope that the book provides his children, Aurelia and Bodhi, a much cherished memory of their Dad when they are older.Tom was and will continue to be seen as an inspirational, positive, hardworking, loving person who loved life and lived it to the absolute full. Although his life was cut short, he has left the world a better place that how he found it, and I think that that is all any of us can hope to do.

I’ve just finished reading this book and I can honestly say it was a pleasure to read, hard at times seeing how difficult Tom found many days. However, the fact he managed to battle on through even at low points give everyone “hope” and to live our lives the way we want to. Fly high Tom 🪽
