Bat Loves the Night: Read and Wonder

Educational
Very educational and nice artwork. Could combine with a unit on nocturnal animals, mammals, Halloween, day/night, sound, etc. I might pair it with a bat craft or even making a diorama of a bat and its needs with some glow in the dark touches of course... or even a short video clip showing a bat catching a moth ;-) I also definitely show kids what fox bats look like - they are so cute and cuddly. Overall, this book is appropriate for kindergarten and higher since there are so many words on a page and its paperback. I wish this book was available in a hardback for longevity.

Great book, but too detailed for a Kindle version.
Small, detailed drawings with explanations in small lettering are added to many pages. They are done in a medium Sepia and are almost impossible to see.

Whimsical bat book
My most favorite bat book for children and adults.

Too easy for me
I chose this rating because the book had a lot of details. I would recommend this book to a child who needs some help learning more about science.π I disliked if because it was pretty short and too easy for me.

beautiful book
This was a quiet read for my preschool class during the afternoon. Nice information, lovely illustrations.... but your voice will have to add the interest for this age group.

Very interesting
Very interesting and lots of fun facts to learn. I like that the book is written in a fun and exciting way and with beautiful pictures. Very enjoyable and not boring like some books I have found. Nieces and nephews and I have really had fun with this.

Lovely
A lovely mix of informational text and a fictional story of a bat. The author uses two different fonts to show the two parts of the book. The illustrations enhance the storytelling. A must have book for lovers of bats.

Bat loves the night
My child loves this book. It tells the tale of how a bat lives with informative sub-texts about bats; explaining echolocation, hunting, roosts and how the batlings develop. This has become a classic book in our collection. I came across it in the school where I work and the children who are rising 8s enjoy sharing it. Any child interested in bats will like the story style and appreciate learning facts about pipistrelles. The illustrations are lovely too.

Bat loves the night
This is a beautiful book which I have used for children in school in my Year 1 and 2 class. They loved the way it was presented and read by Stephen Tomkinson. Without realising it they absorbed a lot of facts about this creature and the language / descriptions within the book really helped them with their literacy. Would highly recommend it

...and we love Bat.
Lovely book, beautiful illustrations 'aawwww she's sooo cuuuute!' and just enough facts vs story to make a really nice bedtime book for a bat-mad four year old girl.

Something different
Got this book for my 4 year old son to go with the cuddly bat he asked for for christmas. It's a nice book but I think he'd appreciate it more in a couple of years time when he can understand the 'bat facts' a bit more.
