Sidekick
This was not what I had expected. It went chapter to chapter what was happening in the book, and what meaning. I had thought that I had bought the book, and thus was dissappoointed

A book about conditions in Germany before the war and the effect Hitler had on its people.
I haven't finished the book yet but it holds my interest. What hardships most of those people went thru. At the very least they never had enough to eat and if you didn't say"Heil Hitler" and salute you were in big trouble. It shows what awful things happen when a dictator takes over a country. Hopefully, that won't happen here in the good old USA.Barb Nottingham

Couldn't find a better book summary
I have read several, albeit countless book summaries and reviews. Most of them are from books I have read previously and either want to brush up on details, or books I want to know more about. To be honest, this was a fantastic, if not flawless summary of The Book Thief. I have read this book several times and wanted to catch up on details before seeing the recently released movie, and I can comfortably say that I have yet to find another summary that is as concise, thorough, detailed and accurate. This summary does an extremely accurate job at wording everything to precision. All characters, plots, themes and symbols are all extremely detailed and easy to understand. This summary was actually refreshing and delightful to read. What I found the most efficient and interesting was reading over the major themes and symbols. This gave me a much better and more thorough comprehension of the work and a better enjoyment of the movie. The author here in this summary did such a concise and fantastic job that I, as fickle as I am, and as much of a particular reader I am, have no complaints or issues. If you are looking for precise explanation and a stimulating afterward of discussion ideas for future testing, essays, or general questioning, this is the PERFECT summary of this book, and I will rarely say that.

Wasn't what I thought I had ordered--this to me was not a story or a book--just a "preview" of what you might get in a different copy of the Book Thief--Sorry I wasted my $ on this particular one--my error

Not exactly Cliff Notes
I thought I was getting the real book, what a deal for 2.99. Very superficial in conveying story line and no in-depth understanding of the major characters. And how exactly did the story end?

Makes Sense of An Intriguing Novel
"The Book Thief" by Marcus Zusak was one of the saddest, most poignant novels I've read thus far. I loved it and hated it at the same time, because I am devastated by cruelty toward children and any kind of hardship they have to endure. This Sidekick helped me make better sense of the narrator--which happens to be Death itself--and allowed me to delve deeper into the themes of the book. While I'm very familiar with the Holocaust and Nazism, I appreciated the additional background on the time period and on what it was really like to live in Nazi Germany. All in all, the Sidekick really made it a bit easier to read such a heart-wrenching book.

The Book Theif Sidekick
I always love to have a book that gives me an more in depth look further into the world. I always love reading books about when Adolf Hitler was around, because I like history. My grandpa was in WWI and his son was in WWII. It is always nice, maybe not all the time, to go back in time and see how it was back then. In the book, The Book Theif, is about 9 year old Liesel Merminger and what she goes through from 1939 through 1942.I like how the Book Sidekick gives more information about chapters that I may have missed while I was reading The Book Theif.

was interesting to get the story behind the story, if I was an English Literature Teacher it would have been a valuable asset to help students understand the original text

The Book Thief
There is very little text in the book. What there is is good but there is simply not enough. I did understand the story better having read the book. However, I am sure it would be wonderful for children who had been requested to write about the characters in an English Lesson or a person/leader of a Book Club.

Very moving!
The concept of this book is brilliant! Getting Death's side of the story is different & I found it very moving. I loved this book & found all the characters appealing & believable. A great read.

No es el libro, es una estudio o guia sobre él.
Lo compré pensando que era el libro, tan sólo son unas 25 páginas de una "explicación" o guía del libro.Me siento estafado.
