Tomee 6 ft. Controller Extension Cable for Neo Geo CDZ/ Neo Geo CD/Neo Geo AES

Same issue as others have stated. These are going in the trash.

I bought this for my Famicom which just like the Neo Geo has a 15 pin controller port. all of my controllers fit and work on this cable including the lightgun. All 15 pins have continuity and the strain relief on each end is molded, but the port protectors are glued plastic so it's easy to repair or modify to suit your needs. The cable is flexible but sturdy it doesn't feel cheap or weak. It's a very nice cable and I would buy this item again.

It only technically works, but as others have pointed out, it's machined so incredibly shoddy, the blunt ends of the pins will push the connectors of the controller out of reach of the pins, so certain buttons will not work,and will never work until you take apart the Neo Geo connector and repair it. It's a terrible product. It's not even easy to improve the shoddy pins, the connecter has to be busted opened to be dremeled

Very disappointed. The male pins are of slightly different length and don’t have a uniform end. I couldn’t connect my controller pad easily, and when I gave it some firm pressure it ended up bending one of the female pins on my controller pad. These were clearly not tested and have poor QA.

I purchased 2 of these Tomee 6ft extension cables for use with Neo Geo CD (Top Loader) and TimeHarvest CMVS.When first trying to connect the extension cable to a Neo Geo CD gamepad (with very light pressure), one of the metal sleeves in the controller's pin holes was moved our of alignment. This made it impossible to connect this controller to either of my Neo Geo systems. I was able to re-align the metal sleeve in the pin hole using a very sharp round object as tool to reposition the sleeve. Neither of my Neo Geo CD gamepads would connect to either of the 2 Tomee 6ft extension cables, as they were delivered to me (New in the box).Upon inspection, I could see that the pins on the extension cables were not aligned properly. After manually aligning the pins using an open pair of needle-nose pliers both of my Neo Geo CD gamepads connected easily to the 2 extension ports.The pins on the Tomee 6ft extension cables are not uniform in length, and the tips of some of the pins appear larger than others, apparently due to compression. It looks like whatever they use to cut the pins during manufacturing could use a good sharpening.I gave the Tomee 6ft extension cable 3 stars because it does work (after modification) and offers a nice tight fit in both the Neo Geo CD and TimeHarvest CMVS. I deducted 2 stars because my controllers could have been rendered unusable, had I not been careful/lucky.It seems you can actually use any DB15 extension cable with standard Neo Geo 15 pin controllers and ports. You might be better off avoiding these if you can find a suitable alternative.
