The Boys Definitive Edition Volume 4 Hardcover – Illustrated, November 20, 2012

I've thoroughly enjoyed the story arc of The Boys. A fantastic twisted take on the world of superheroes. What if they used their powers for personal gain? Who can hold them accountable? I've been loving it.I'd give it five stars but the story suddenly starts to drag. Each book the story is progressing at a nice natural place; new clues; new conflicts to help our the characters grow and change. But when Hughie decides to leave to "figure things out" the pace really slowed. It's probably mostly tied to Hughie's character becoming increasing whimpy; uncertain of things. I thought his character had come a long way to suddenly regress.But that's the only hang-up on the book/story. And he obviously eventually gets his stuff together. Otherwise the mounting tension is page turning. A sub-plot to utilize a group of superheroes, who actually want to do good, was a great change-of-pace. More and more you start to realize the heart of this story is really a love story.Can't wait to read Volume 5

The Boys is incredible. Simply one of the best. "I can do anything..."

The content of the book is outstanding. Over-sized and collected with cool bonus material The Definitive Edition is a must have.Garth Ennis is one of the best writers in the comic book industry.The Problem I've experienced however is one of pure frustration.Amazon delivered three separate copies of Vol 4 to my home over the period of two months and every single one was damaged. The slipcase has multiple dents and scratches on it. Being a collectors item I am perplexed as to how Amazon can find this an acceptable situation.They also advertise As having a signed copies of Vol 2 (first printing) and accept offers for it but don't actually have the product. I learned this after twenty days of waiting for it and over ten hours of phone calls to various call centers in India.It is difficult for me to find these items elsewhere which is THE ONLY reason I'm buying them from AmazonGreat Book - Crap delivery service.
