FJB-16

This was easily the best Jack I've purchased ro my floor. It's reliable, easily spun without much resistance at all. Didn't come loose after heavy usage and helped jack up my main floor beam for several months while I did repairs to my flooring.

FJB-16 Jack: I couldn’t find details, so including them here. The tube is 2.50” OD and 0.080” wall thickness. The thread is M30 x 2.0 (approximately 1.25” dia x .080 pitch). The tube top cap (with the female thread) is 12mm thick (just under half inch). Cap is welded to the tube approximately 270 deg around. The base and top plates are 6mm x 89mm x 153mm (1/4” x 3.5 x 6.0) The only reason I cut this open was I need two of them to be approx 10.5” tall, so will be shortening them myself. I was going to make my own, but can’t even get all the material for the price of these! Would definitely purchase again. Way better made than some of the cheaper ones, and equal in quality to others costing 50% more.

This is a well made screw jack. The center post is about 1/8 inch too long, which makes it a difficult to do the initial loading onto the jack. Once the center post has created a divot into the surface of the wood you are loading, the 4/6 plate bites in, and all works well. But for some bizarre reason, the US manufacturer has decided to make the thing NON-RETURNABLE. I ordered 4 jacks. Only needed 3. This extra jack hit every Amazon criteria for being returned. It is not medical equipment, or anything else that is on the non-return list. They just, RANDOMLY, will not take it back. They should feature this information, PROMINENTLY, in the product information. Amazon credited my account. I kept the jack at Amazon's request. I would have preferred to do the honorable thing and return this item to the shipper. Bizarre. But, thanks to Amazon customer service for making it right for me financially.

Worked great for jacking up my front porch while I replaced the deck.

It's all welded construction makes it easy to move around and adjust. The top plate is swaged on and rotates to adjust. It's made from 1/4 inch steel plate. I've used other jack stands but this is the type I'll always use from now on. I drug 4 of these through the dirt under a house and they still operated easily. This is not a lifting jack. The turn bar is for adjusting, not turning to lift. It can bend if you push hard enough. You need to jack up the beams first and use this to support the weight. You get what you pay for. Well worth the money.

So these jacks are so much easier to use than the house support jacks that you find at the big construction stores. First the top plate is crimped and rotates and can't fall off. The bottom is welded to the metal support plate. This is ideal as the ones that are readily available come in four parts. A top/bottom plate, a center post and rotate head and all can and will fall apart numerous times when go to set them up, which is usually in places where you don't have a lot of space. These don't have any problems and you can set and readjust them without anything falling apart far superior for their load ratings.

I have used these before and normally trust them, but... I placed an order for three of these screw jacks, then ordered an additional single jack a week later. The jack that arrived alone was in different packaging and was obviously inferior to the previous jacks received. See pictures to note that on the inferior jack on the left: - The tube top cap (with the female thread) is only 10 mm thick (compared to the real one’s 12mm) and poorly welded to the tube. - The center screw rod has wider, sharper and cruder threads. - The top plate is not flush with the pin securing it to the screw rod. The pin is too tall and sits higher than the plate. As a result anything placed on the jack will rest on the center pin and not the plate. - The enamel paint finish is a darker red, uneven and chipped. - The product label has identical text but the label itself is about 1mm wider and taller, and is a thicker material. I ordered an additional three jacks after returning the counterfeit one, and those three were identical to the first (good) set of three. So I don’t know if ordering in bulk is the key, but all six jacks in the first and third orders were identically packed, with each box individually numbered by lot.

We have a small cabin and it sits on soft ground and if we have a very wet spring our cabin will sink a bit. We have one of these in all 4 corners and if needed we can adjust the corners. Works great!
