Buy extra propellers and new hack!
My 2 boys, 6 and 8, had these up and flying after a few tries. The range is amazing and the planes fly amazing. Great beginner planes. As others have said, start off in beginner mode and in a grass or soft dirt field. Don’t bother with the landing gear until they get to intermediate mode and can land the planes.Fly in a large field away from trees, houses, etc. All in all, I highly recommend these planes.Edit: brilliant hack to make these last longer! Take a 1inch by 2 inch piece of boxing tap and put it on the bottom part of the nose. It’s keeps the damage from crashing to a minimum and prevents chunks of foam from coming out.

Awesome - get one! or two!
This is a fantastic step up from the smaller biplanes and other beginner airplanes that are fun to learn on, but tend to porpoise or fly slowly with nose up. I got the F4U and am still blown away by how easy it was to transition from a backyard flyer, to what may be the smallest - but still amazingly stable - park flyer. I just moved from the beginner to intermediate toggle switch setting, which as far as I can tell, varies the amount of auto gyro-stabilizer. Moving to the middle position produced way tighter turns, and ability to roll out of a loop on top or bottom, but is more shaky, requiring more attention. The best part about this airplane, by far and away, is that it continues to survive crash after crash - pop the prop back on, and go again, no harm done. I bought an extra pack of 2-blade props, and another of 3-blade props, which make it even easier to fly. I've broken one 3-blade prop from a straight down smash, and lost the original 2-blade prop when it when into a lake - yes, an upside down water landing. I put a new prop on, and it flew right away - no problems. You need a huge tree-less yard, or a park, soccer field, football field, etc... for your first flights. I've been flying in smaller yards with more trees now, but it's much more fun in a big field. I've already got my eyes on the ME109 for the next one - the F4 needs a friend.

good only for a few flights
The plane only lasted about five months then the gears wouldn't lock together. Also pieces where falling off every time you crashed. but over all it is good for beginners.

Very easy to fly
2nd time flying the plane I was able to do barrel rolls and loops. Super easy to fly. I will likely purchase another.

Way better than expected
First flight for 12 year old son with no experience was fantastic. Even with a partially charged battery it flew for several minutes. My son read the manual while at the soccer field and easily learned how to set it up and use features like the acrobatic button.I’m very impressed at how good it is for such a low price. I’m considering buying the other plane in this set.
