Power has shut off several times and it has prevented water back up.

You need these
I never thought about using these when I set up my aquarium but boy did I grt lucky. My air pump quit and the water started to back siphon into the pump. Luckily I was checking on the fish and noticed this problem. If this would have happened overnight 36 gallons of water would have flooded our room and probably through the floor into the basement. Get these!!!!

it does what it is supposed to do
It works as a check valve for the air pump for my fish tank, simple as that. It was fairly priced so no complaints here.
