The tape is super strong and usually doesn’t fall off I taped a whole surge protector outlet under my desk, and it still hasn’t fallen off it’s been half of a year value for money is worth it appearance is OK. I mean it’s literally a tape. It’s compatible with lots of surfaces but not great on drywall. If you stick something on drywall it will grab your whole drywall off of your house and leave a hole in your wall. Texture is sticky and smooth. It’s super sticky.

Extremely strong and tacky. Difficult to cut as it gets stuck on scissors. I use a box cutter attached to a cheap scraper tool, and slice it like a guillotine

Worked as expected. Hard to pull backing off

I’m currently renting, so drilling holes into my walls or tile is a big no-go. I’ve tried generic mounting strips before, only to find my decor on the floor the next morning. Switching to this 3M Heavy Duty Double-Sided Tape has finally given me the "set it and forget it" confidence I was looking for. The Performance Breakdown: • Instant Tack: The adhesive is incredibly aggressive. Once it touches a surface, it’s there to stay. I used it to mount a heavy power strip to the underside of my desk and a spice rack to my kitchen tile—both haven't budged an inch in over a month. • Weather Resistance: I used a small strip to secure a doorbell camera to my outdoor brick siding. Despite a week of heavy rain and fluctuating temperatures, the bond is still rock solid. The acrylic foam core seems to absorb vibrations and handle thermal expansion much better than thin tapes. • Thickness: It has a slight "squish" to it, which is actually a benefit. It helps the tape conform to slightly uneven surfaces, ensuring 100% contact even if your wall isn't perfectly flat. Installation Tips (Crucial for a permanent bond): • Surface Prep: Do not skip the rubbing alcohol. Any hint of dust or finger oil will compromise the bond. Wipe both surfaces down and let them dry completely. • The "Wait" Period: While it's tacky immediately, it reaches full strength after about 24 hours. If you're hanging something heavy, I recommend tape-only for a day before adding the weight of the object. • Removal: This is permanent tape. If you ever need to take it off, you'll likely need a heat gun or some dental floss to "saw" through the foam core, followed by an adhesive remover. Bottom Line: If you are tired of things falling off your walls, skip the "removable" strips and go with this. It’s industrial-grade and performs exactly like the 3M VHB series used in construction.

I really love this tape. I use it in industrial type situations all the time for different things and it holds up amazingly well. Recently I created a battery bank for a UPS and taped the batteries into a set so I could slide them in. It gets hot in that UPS regularly sitting at over 100 degrees Fahrenheit for years at a time, and this tape doesn't miss a beat. The set of batteries I pulled out from 2 years ago also had this tape on them and they were stuck together like new. No issues. I have even used these to tape down solar panels to the roof of one of my trailers and they haven't moved an inch. Here are some pro-tips to get this to stick to its highest potential: 1. Prep. Yes, we all know it's a time vampire, but if you prep the surface correctly, it WILL stick like you won't believe. Not only should you clean the surface with soap and water and get all the gunk off, the real trick is right before you apply the tape, shoot it down with some denatured alcohol. Give the alcohol a minute or two to dry and stick this tape on. The alcohol removes all the contaminants from the surface and gives you pristine sticking power. The difference it makes is amazing. 2. Cut an extra length to hang off each side because you're going to get fingerprints/oils/dirt on the very end of the tape. It's just a reality and what you do is leave yourself a half inch or so on each side and then trim it back with a razor blade when done and you'll keep that perfect bond. 3. When trying to start pulling off the strip on the second side, use the edge of a razor blade or exacto knife or something to get underneath and lift (Don't pry... lift) and you'll be able to get it off without munging the end. If you followed step 2, you'll cut off the end where you might have made little marks with the razor blade anyway, and everything will be nice and clean and stick for a long time, in all kinds of adverse conditions. 4. For the super paranoid, if you're using in particularly harsh or outdoor environments, run a bead of silicon over the mating surface edge after you've given this stuff time to set and you'll find that no water can intrude (even though it says waterproof, what no proof it some more?) and it will hang on to the surface for a very long time, even under reasonable load. This is some of best stuff you can buy, I use it any time I have a "Must hold" situation. I hope you found this helpful

Tape worked great for outdoor Christmas banner. But now we can’t get the tape off the stucco house. Other wise the banners stuck through wind and rain. Any ideas for getting the take off would be appreciated.

I didn't know I could review both of these double sided Heavy Duty Double Sided Adhesive Tape that is waterproof, since I think I went overboard when I bought both. I have tested this out on some stair treads that frankly wouldn't stick. I am taking a huge risk by trying this on our White Oak high glossed staircase, and I hope that when I remove them I don't remove the shine high gloss finish. For some reason I thought that this is less harsh than the 2 inch same brand. I think that I won't be taking any more risks and I think that I'll give this to my husband since he might find it useful, since in my mind I thought that this was less harsh when I ordered it. I think that I went overboard buying both of the same brand except the other one that I already reviewed at 2 inches has a lot in common with this except this roll is almost an inch and the other one that is the same brand, but 2 inches. I will come back and update this review when I remove the two stair treads and describe whether this is any less harsh that I'm worried that it might be. It won't be a huge deal for a few patches of varnish to be noticeable and it's easily patched. But if it is safe and doesn't affect the few thin areas I used I will inform whatever my experience I have, but that won't be in the near future. At least you'll know the results, but for now I'll give it to my husband which he'll be wondering why he's getting the same brand only an inch smaller.
