I used this rolling pin on air dry clay. I found if you add a bit of weight or pressure while rolling, the pattern does show up pretty well.

They came in excellent condition, they're exactly what I wanted and expected. Very please with the service.

The design is crisp and the roller is very easy to use. The only problem is that the rolling pin needs to be pushed harder than most for the design to come through. Clearly. I quit using the handles and use the flat of my hands to move the roller over the clay, so that I could exert enough even pressure. It may be less difficult with cookie dough. This rolling pin is very well made.

Awesome! I am using this in my ceramics studio. My only regret is the rolling surface is not longer. This might be big enough for cooks, but I want one even larger as well. I have monumental plans.
