OSTENT Full Housing Shell Faceplate Case Parts Replacement for Sony PSP 2000 Console

I needed a new shell as my old one was being held together with bubblegum and popsicle sticks. Definitely a fun little project for a Thursday evening. The shell has a nice matte finish which is nice to hold, buttons and replacement stickers are authentic. Action buttons are squishy, which will just take time to get used to. I needed to file down parts of the LR buttons, as they were getting stuck in the front facade. And there was one screw hole that wasn't drilled in (bottom edge). I was confused that they gave me an extra spring, however there's no place for it, but I think it for the 1000 series. Would buy again, but would probably try another design.

Terrible quality build, screws dont fit the holes. Home buttons didn't come with he package. The finish was sticky.

The shell worked like it's supposed to, the only minor issue I had was some of the fit up was a little tight and loose in a couple places, nothing major, just want people to know not to expect it to be perfect.

If you have extensive experience replacing PSP shells, this kit is a breeze. Most experts argue that the PSP 2000 is the easiest PSP to flip into a new shell. Unlike the cheaper ones straight from China, this Ostent shell is evenly painted and the extrusions are I'd say 90% accurate to OEM. The ABS plastic has authentic feeling weight and resilience to breakage. Only complaints are as follows: -- No membrane is included for the D-pad, so you have no choice but to use your old one. -- UMD door latch is too rounded- had to use the old one that has sharper points. -- No UMD door hinge slide is included, so you have to use the old one. -- Triggers had a little extra plastic flashing I had to file off. -- There is an extra, third hole on the left by the status lights in the front plate- I believe this is a machining error. All in all, surprisingly decent performance. Ignore negative reviews left by the inexperienced. 12/2022 EDIT: Housing is still holding up perfectly fine. I see there are newer reviews left after mine complaining about a scratched screen lens. I'm not sure if the kit has changed at all since I assembled mine, but there was plastic protective film on *BOTH* sides of lens when I received the kit. It sounds like the newer reviews forgot to remove the lens plastic on one/both sides. After I peeled off both films during assembly, there were *NO* scratches on the lens. Easy to overlook, but check to make sure you remove all protective films before assembly!
